Cross-game chat never coming - Confirmed

Yoshida-san confirms due to RAM limitations cross game chat is not a possiblity on the PS3 ever.. I wonder how long they have known this and just not confirmed it, or if they have been researching ways to make it possible this whole time.

Anyway, are you bummed?

I personally don't care that much, but in some very limited cases I would really like to have it on this console..

i honestly only used it TWICE on my xbox, and that was just to try it out lol....i dont care for that feature, and its funny the article says that thats the number ONE feature we all want. more like what he wants lol.....the NUMBER ONE thing i want sony to do is fix the damn web browser. thats their first issue i want them to resolve not no damn cross game chat a feature only a handful of users want.....so in the end, i dont care for this feature and if it cant be done, so be it. at least fix the browser dn we call it even sony lolJoKeR_421

I never really understood the point of the feature anyway. The only reason I'd want to chat while gaming is if I'm playing co-op with someone (as I do very often in Bad Company 2).

Otherwise, I'd rather wait until I'm NOT gaming to chat with someone. And to do that I have this archaic device called a PHONE (teenagers: that's your texting machine you carry around with you, it actually has this feature where you TALK to your friends instead of texting... you know... like Skype). :lol:

I am just still completely dumbfounded that either company thought 512 for ram was enough. I won't touch a computer unless it has at least 4 GIGS of ram. It just seems necessary...How does a PS3 even play games? MC-Reap

I used this feature on the 360 a lot. We would start a group and chat and totally avoid all of the screaming little kids. It was really nice.

Cross game chat would have been nice when playing Demons souls with friends. If Dark Souls doesnt have a chat system built into the game, the lack of xgame chat will make the 360 version much better.

But whatever, I'm a PC gamer now. If I want to chat I can just run a ventrillo server. I would have cared maybe a year ago.

It would be a nice feature but I hardly ever use my mic so I'm not bothered.

I thought cross game chat was available on Playstation Plus?Spellingiscool
