Playing Crysis 2 for the first time now and I'm liking it so chances are I'll be picking up the 1st one. Just when I thought I made my final list of just 4 games this fall/winter to get this happens, oh well. After watching the trailer for it this is officially a must buy. I never played or saw it on PC before but the game looks crazy good.
Only $20? :o Wow, I've already played it but for that price I wouldn't mind getting it again.
Finally, the rest of the gaming community can experience the mediocrity hiding behind those pretty graphics. Also, they are changing the suit controls, so I expect them to be like the ones in Crysis 2, which would make this game a lot less interesting imo. MrSelf-DestructCrysis is far from mediocre. And personally, I liked it more for the gameplay than I did for the graphics because in my opinion the graphics lacked personality and while from a technical perspective, they're top of the class, artistically it's behind a lot of games. The gameplay is fantastic though, anybody who says differently is most likely being stubborn or hasn't played it (not always of course, people have different tastes.)
i just hope the ai is better and the hope that if there is multiplayer...it doesnt suck

Hopefully the map editor returns too. I love map editors. I spent more time creating maps in Far Cry 2 than actually playing the game. :P

The gameplay is fantastic though, anybody who says differently is most likely being stubborn or hasn't played it (not always of course, people have different tastes.) The gameplay in Crysis 1 is why I sunk dozens of hours into it and actually managed to make my way to the end of the campaign. Some of the most fun I've had this gen was spent running circles around Koreans and bringing buildings down on their heads with my bare hands. When I say the game is mediocre, I'm talking about the other aspects like the AI, the story, the way the game completely changes pace half way through and abandons a lot of what made it fun, and one of the most atrocious boss fights I've ever experienced. People claim that its one of the best FPSs this gen, but I really don't think so. The graphics are all a lot of people talk about and the gameplay was the only thing I liked about it. If the graphics are being dumbed down (removing a lot of foliage, too, which hinders some of the gameplay) and the suit is streamlined like the one in Crysis 2... the game just wouldn't have anything left to offer. A lot of people would probably be like "WTF have you PC fanboys been smokin? This sucks." :POnly $20? :o Wow, I've already played it but for that price I wouldn't mind getting it again.

On one hand, $20 seems pretty solid for a game that looks a bit different from the norm. On the other, I hear so many conflicting things. I think I'll get to it one day, just maybe not this year.Only $20? :o Wow, I've already played it but for that price I wouldn't mind getting it again.

Crysis 2 was the most disappointing game I've played on the PS3. Honestly, I really don't think the series has anything going for it other than graphics. So I'd say there is a real solid chance I won't be getting this. Then again, Crysis 1 is an open world type of game if I'm correct, so that might be reason to try it out.
was bit dissapointed in crysis 2 so wont be getting this in a hurry. Only way can see myself playing it is if free on playstation plus which is highly unlikely

I thought Crisis 2 was great. :? The open ended gameplay was really fun. It was as open ended as games like Far Cry 2 or the original Crysis, but it felt really different, and better, than most of the PS3's shooters like Killzone 2 or Bad Company 2 (campaign wise.)
I already played this on PC but I'm still getting it out of curosity. I really want to see how it performs and what changes were made, and the gameplay was pretty good too. Hopefully it will perform better than Crysis 2 on PS3, the framerate on that was terrible.
I'm in. I haven't played C2 yet, so I wanna play them in order... It's a habit of mine to play the first games first, if at all possible (to that end, I suffered through "Kane & Lynch" before playing "Dog Days"... Glutton for punishment, I am!)
:D
I'm glad they're bringing it to us in the console crowd. My PC is definitely not up to the task, and I honestly prefer a controller for FPS to mouse & keyboard.
Kane & Lynch 2 wasn't that bad! :D I enjoyed it and played it twice.I'm in. I haven't played C2 yet, so I wanna play them in order... But your missing Crysis: Warhead....
Don't miss Crysis 1 because of Crysis 2, it's a very different game.
There is far more to it than graphics, but the changes for the console version are making it sound dumbed down (like the nanosuit change).
You all do know the AVERAGE FPS on Crysis 2 on ps3 and 360 was 24 and 27 FPS respectively; at who knows what true resolution. Crysis 2 had a lot of good post processing and lighting which makes a game "look pretty" but there is so much more to "graphics." In Crysis1, you really could attack a compound 30 different ways, everything had it's own physics, and the world was so open.
So logically, if a very scripted Crysis 2 was a struggle to have playable FPS (in my opinion it didn't) AND it didn't quite have the PC quality to it, then how could it trump the PC version of 2007 which was a much more Technically demanding game? Sure the lighting may look nice but there is a LOT less foilage, the destructables will be scripted and not be calculated based on "where you hit or strike." It just can't be done because that game was so big, so open and technical. Even on MAX settings, the buliding looked very drab becaues they just couldn't do more to it. And that gimped nano suit....pass.

Finally someone on the same page as me! It could have been better (the premise is awesome but story really isn't) and longer but it was good enough.I'm in.
