Do u think Crysis will come out for the PS3? I would rather play it on the ps3 but im going to get it for christmas on the PC if its not going to come out.
well all this talk i heard and links people postin that ps3 is almost like a pc, i dont see why not, but like lord said they MITE have to reprogram the whole game
Crysis was designed specifically to show off DX10? right? It would take a lot of effort to move it over the the PS3, I would love to see it though.

There's a great rumour going around that Crysis is programmed specifically for DX10, and this just isn't the case! I have it, and have all the graphical options of DX10 running through DX9 via a very simple hack. Just from this info then they would be able to make it for the PS3, but the engine would require MAJOR optimisation for the PS3 (perhaps a great show for the benefits of the cell chip?)
This is what I said over at the 360 forums about Crytek coming to the 360: The Crytek creator said that neither the 360 nor the PS3 could run Crysis the way it was meant to be, so if they ever did made it, it would be nothing more than a downgraded version and just a different game from Crysis.

Yeah I know, I was just joking around though. Yes, I did consider that you were asking on a PS3 forum, meaning you would not spend big bucks on a gaming rig.
Simply put, the PS3 does not have nearly enough RAM to run Crysis. That's one of the more majorly glaring problems besides the GPU, and other things anyways.
The ps3 or 360 for thst matter will never run crysis the way ti was meant to be. The engines have to be completely redone. PS3 uses opengl, while cryengine 2 uses directx. It isnt coming for ps3. Leave it at that and close the thread

I Remember the Crytek team saying that the PS3 and 360 will not get this game, because they dont have the power to run it. Specially in Dx10. I remember reading that the Crytek team loved the Wii and might do a Crysis game for it, which makes me think they would do a PS3 and 360 version too.
gamepro magazine actually had an article on thi...anybody else catch it? they mentioned that crytek was looking into developing for the consoles and were studying them closely. they said a crysis spinoff may reach the consoles, but answer in a pointblank way that crysis will only be seen on computer monitors.
