Crysis is just great graphics. That's as far as it goes.Denji
Yea, I keep seeing these good reviews, and hear the words graphics over and over. But I have no clue what the game is about. Or what you do. Have to read up on that? Did it get eye candy scores? Will see latter I guess?

Yeah, I've seen videos of Crysis and it's just a giant glitch and bugfest. I've also watched videos of people playing Crysis who have also pointed these out.
crysis for PS3 is abit different from PC, crytek confirm that for PS3.. the crysis will be 1.5 = Crysis 1.5.... means is a extended version compare to the Pc version...i think we able to play in the sphere..in our PS3...:Dquahk2003
Same thing I heard as well. But who knows for sure.
ps3 ANNND 360? damn that stinks i was hoping theyd try to focus on ps3's hardware to exploit it but now we'll just get lookalikes on both consolesronniepage588
Yea I agree somewhat. To have to go backwards for the 60 kinda stinks. But who knows. If they start going PS3 first then port to the old 60 hardwear. PS3 might start looking good even on multis, which we have seen with a few as of late.
And even Lucas arts has stated that, thats the way to go. Up to down. Even thow they did not do that on Force unleashed. That is what they have learned since.
And it is how they should do it. Its kinda like trying to make something thats already SD HD. It cant be done well at all. But You can make something thats HD SD ,and get decent results, without loosing the HD version. You can always strip down, but you cant add up. And their just figuring that out right now.

yeah..its all graphics:roll: play the game first before bashing it...
It's not being released. This is latest the creator of the game had to say about a possible transition to consoles.
"PC Play:You confirmed that it's impossible to make Crysis run on an console, but yet there are constant rumors that it's nearly inevitable. Can you finally give us, our readers, and the industry the final answer on that matter? Is Crysis going to be ported to a console?
Cevat Yerli: Crysis as we have seen is impossible. Crysis would have to be largely changed to bring it to Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. Crysis is designed to be PC Exclusive. Our internal focus is not linked to bring Crysis to consoles."
Crytek has stated that they are moving away from PC exclusivity because of massive piracy and that consoles will be used in the future, but there has never been a confirmation that Crysis is coming to the PS3 later this year. That is just stupid talk.

DANG 360. And you know for a fact thats it, again lowerd expectations for the weak little one. Experts "even guys at IBM" say PS3 could do it. So we have to once again lower this gen standards because of one.
If you check the latest articles, they went from saying that Crysis won't run on consoles to, it will likley run on all high settings. They also state that the difficulties with the PS3 are only a benefit, and that it will help in the long run. Claiming that they will get a much better understanding of the architecture and be able to push it. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/865/865020p2.htmlEMERlCa6969

Just to be clear (and I blame Crytek for this) they are talking about CryEngine 2 being used on consoles, not Crysis. We have Crysis, Crytek and CryEngine being thrown around like it's the same word and it's not.
I don't doubt that this engine can be used, and used well on both consoles, but when speaking of the current PC game Crysis, no it will not be on consoles.
I know that the CryEnginge and Crysis are to very different things. The reason I think it will be coming to consoles, and will run fine are easy to point out. Take for instance the tech demo for consoles. That huge huge city background is all in-engine assets and geometry. It isn't a 2-d background. Taking into account console track-runs, they always find a way to get more out of the hardware. A simple example would be the xbox version of Splinter Cell Chaos theory and the PC version. It took my older computer(4x better) to run the game looking exactly like xbox version without any slowdown. The fact of the matter is that there are loop-holes with consoles so to speak. They have the advantage of having closed hardware(everyone has the same system, minus the hdd) which means much better optimization. They also don't have background processes(or at least as many) as a pc. Another reason I know it will come to consoles is because the name "Crysis" would sell all on its own. It would sell well, and the team there knows it. They are a business, and exclusive is a flexible term nowadays. I'm just going on what I have personally seen over the years I have been gaming. I'm not a technical wizard, so if you see any flaws in my post, point them out. I'm always wanting to learn more on the subject matter.
I just wanted to point out that I know there are plenty of grammatical errors. I'm really just to tired to care right now. So I'd appreciate if any grammar freaks not attack me right now. I don't feel like being called "dumb" or whatever for a few mistakes.

Crysis is one of the most stable games I've played and I played it on Vista I never had one crash. You do need a pretty high spec PC to even consider playing it which is why people have had problems. As for the story it is pretty solid and ends well its a lengthy games with plenty to do and amazing graphics.

""even guys at IBM" say PS3 could do it"
Keep dreaming, becuase the DEVELUPERS themselves said neither consoles have nearly enough power to run the game anywhere near the level of a high-end PC. And since when where "the guys at IBM" experts on gaming hardware, or even games for that matter. And save your 360 bashing for somewhere else(well... this is the PS3 forum so its bound to happan)
By the way I own a high-end PC and a 360[a dead one:-(], and the 360 and PS3 are very close in terms of graphics, and I will say nothing on the console even comes close to matching Crysis's graphics in any aspect.
And while the graphics are Crysis's main selling point, that does not mean the game sucks, its acually really fun, and the nano-suit/weapon modding adds a lot of dept to the game as well. I love approaching a North Vietmese letting him spot me, then activating my cloak and watching him freak out and start spraying rounds all over the place. And unlike console games when you up the dificultiy it does more than make enemies stronger it actually makes them smarter as well, and they can do a good job flanking you in the jungle, taking cover etc...
So you guys need to play the game before instantly assuming all the reveiwers are lying.
