Currently in South Korea and Rainbow Six 2

Hi. I'm stationed in Korea right now and I'm playing Rainbox Six 2 online (I have the US version purchased from amazon.com). The problem is all the game I join I have a red dot and I'm always lagging. If I host a game I have perfect connection but its not fair to the other players and they just end up leaving 'cause they lag. I know its cause I'm connecting to people in the United States all the way from Korea. So the question is...

I was browsing a site called www.yesasia.com and noticed they have Rainbow Six 2 "Asian Version". Does anyone know if I'll be connecting to the nearby counteries like Japan with this game or even locally in Korea? Here's the game:
