Dante or Nero ? ( Devil my Cry 4 )

Maybe I'm just a newbie, but I know well about Devil my Cry

I just got a problem with the character we use in Devil my Cry 4

I think Dante is a good type for Devil my Cry, He is very funny and has a sense of humor. Did you agree? Which one is you like, Dante or Nero?Please tell me your reason.

I'm waiting for a good news ;)

As newbie friendly as Nero may be with his Devil Arm, I find myself on familiar territory and with a far better overall performance / rank at the end of missions with Dante as the useable character : maybe after having played DMC3 to death, mastering royal guard, trickster, swordsmaster and gunslinger on Dante, I can't just help but feel a natural bond with the "old man".

That and Dante is a crazy boss-slayer to me : I have a harder time against bosses with Nero compared to with Dante. In fact, I died about twice with Nero throughout Devil Hunter mode, against bosses I didn't know the patterns of. Dante never died once. Maybe because when we use Dante, it'll be the second time we fight the bosses, and consequently, they are more predictable in their attacks? Or maybe because I don't take advantage of the cheapness of the devil arm's cutscene-trigger attacks that take off 1/8 of the enemy boss's lifebar?

Man you couldn't make it more tough. I love Nero because he is a really awesome new character, he is also closer to my age and everything. Dante though made me love the series and he has Trish (totally sexy) so I'd say Dante.Roman_Irishman

You never get to, the game makes you play as Nero for the first 12 or so missions then Dante for 6 or 7 then back to Nero. Don't worry though they are both great.

I like Dante more. Nero isn't bad, but the writers shouldn't have tried to make him walk in Dante's joke-crackin', smart-a** shoes as much as they should have concentrated on making him completely distinct. (I mean, why make a new lead character at all if his going to act like Dante, talk like Dante (at least try), look like dante, but at the same time, isn't Dante)

And i don't mean to be overly critical of Nero, he's pretty bad-a** too.

I actually thought Dante looked better than ever (I like the older look on him), but that's just me :P

I think that as a way to introduce new people into the series, Nero served his purpose. I think he is a good enough character. But in the end, no matter if Nero had been ten times a better character than he already is, there is something that just cannot be changed. Dante is DMC. Without Dante, DMC would cease to exist as we know it.

From a gameplay standpoint, Nero also served his purpose, to ease newbies into the world of DMC combat. But whether you prefer Nero or Dante, it should be obvious that Dante is the superior player.

So, which one is stronger do you think?

Dante. Is obvious from both, story and gameplay standpoint. Nero is pretty powerful, but if you look during the cut-scenes and in his gameplay (pay close attention to combo B of his) you'll see that he just really lacks the finesse and control of power that Dante has. Plus his personality gets in the way, which is pretty evident in combo B as well.

From gameplay, Dante is stronger, he attacks faster, he has more skills (so he is definitely more versatile), and his devil trigger is stronger than Nero's.

Anyone else think Nero is related to Dante?

Anyway, it's gotta be Dante.

How about DMC5 with Co-Op play?

Two man specific combo's, think Rival Schools.

VS. mode that works like a tetris game, each combo (row) you complete sends enemy units (blocks) to your opponents arena.

Dante without question. Stronger, more weapons, a "real" Devil Trigger, more badass, etc.

Nero is ok, but he lacked some qualities that make a Devil May Cry game feel like a Devil May Cry game.

Without a doubt - Dante. Why? Play DMC 1 and 3 and you will understand. :)

I have nothing against Nero, he is a good character to play with but Dante is Dante and he is not replaceable. ^_^

Dante, Nero is just a character made for beginners.

I felt like when I played Megaman X games, and they had me choose between X and Zero. Same deal here. Nero is like X, his Devil Bringer is extremely powerful and easy to use as Xs buster. But Dante is the real deal. Best combos, best moves but requires more practice, as if you were using Zero.

So, which one is stronger do you think?

Dante by far, just go into Devil Trigger and start doing Stinger. Its destructive. Also his last weapon is great once you learn to use it (infinite Combo!!!)

Nero can be destructive against bosses though, but all thanks to the Devil Bringer. But if you learn to use the styles in Dante swiftly you will be almost untouchable (too bad that trickster lost a couple of moves from DMC3 as the triple dash)
