are people really excited for this game??? i played the demo today and have to say why would anyone buy this when they can just wait a few months and buy GOW3? IMO it just looks and feels like a GOW game with bad graphics and horrible story. If you are actually excited for this game then can you PLEASE explain to me why???

I'm excited. I want this game ten times more than God of War. It's nice to see an alternative to GoW, and the Divine Comedy is one of the best stories out there. Also, I couldn't give a damn about graphics

I don't like Kratos as a character. And the game's subject matter is different from God Of War. I don't get all of the hate. Sure it's a GOW ripoff, but so far from what I've seen it's a good one. If you are going to rip something off you might as well do a good job. So far I like what I see. It isn't perfect, but neither was God of War. In fact some of God of Wars levels outright sucked. Maybe Dante's will do a better job of balancing the gameplay, silly puzzles and QTE's. I certainly hope so.

Its a poem, Dante's Inferno is the first part of it, and the game is lightly based on it.

While ill admit i liked the gow3 demo better then the Dante's Inferno demo, i wont just dismiss it as just another copy cat. While it does takes some influence from the gow series it does have its uniqueness in that its story is base on the Divine Comedy which is an imaginative and allegorical vision of the Christian afterlife, the peak of the medieval world-view that had developed in the Western Church, and is seen as one of the greatest works of world literature.
So until we play the full game, lets not just call it a gow clone, as it aiming to be much more.

well i guess everyone has their opinions. i dont have a problem with kratos or his story so i dont see the need to buy both of these. but i guess for people who appreciated the divine comedy or like that GOW type action but not so much kratos this game is a good substitute. sorry if i offended anyone

I will also be getting both games. I think the story/subject matter is different enough to seperate them. I do like rpg element in skill buying, i believe heavenly sword was like that.

I'll admit though, Dante's inferno is very much like GOW. Even down to the Rage of the Titans/Gods meter. ha ha

This pretty much sums it up, while Dante's inferno may borrow a lot from from gow combat, the story of the 2 games different enough to warrant a purchase from anyone who enjoys the action/adventure genre
