I really liked the demo. After reviews though, I'm not so sure...

Well deserved. I am glad that reviewers are not giving this game good scores simply because it was developed by the same team behind Dead Space. Besides, why would you possibly buy this when God of War III is coming out next month?

I think it's probably a very average game. Maybe not 6.5, but more like 7 to 7.5. GS review said that it started off really well, but then just went down hill from then on. I'll prolly get it eventually once it's really cheap.
I'm about 10h into the game and it won't get long until I'm finished with it and I personally think it's one of the best games this generation, which I rarely say about a game (and I actually have a lot of games, check my profile). The reson I absolutely love the game is the atmosphear which you don't have at the demo because it plays outside hell. Once you enter hell, you feel like beeing there, especially with my surrond system. You can hear people suffering from all directions, the landscapes and enemies perfectly fit the sins they represent and the game is almost perfectly designed since it always adds some challenge into the regular battle (like one place you have to pull some device upwards while enemies respawn unlimited). The way they implemented punish/rescue (dunno how it's called in english) also adds a deepth to the game, especially with the people you have to decide wheter you send them to heaven or not. I actually get into their stories and sometimes it's really hard to decide wether I save them or not :S
All in all I think the game gets more hate than deserved. Everyone is hyped for GoW3, but I actually think that I personally won't enjoy GoW3 as much as I enjoy DI. Don't get me wrong, GoW 1/2 were fantastic and the demo of GoW3 had it's good parts, but I'm missing this increbible atmosphear that DI offers. If you enjoy games that deliver a great atmosphear, this game is a must-have
Yeah and i hate the fact that if you start a combo you can't stop it untill its done, meaning if you miss or theres a enemy to your side your just asking to get hit. And yeah, GOWIII BROTHA!! Oh and just to say im pretty sure GOWI had this combo issue and they fixed it in GOWII i think?? Or well i do know its fixed now cause of the E3 demo :DWell deserved. Yep, saw the bad reviews, not buying the game anymore. I'll wait for it to drop. Games here in Canada are 69,99 + tx............ that's 78.99 !!!!!!! I'm not a student, i have a career and i do good money.. still dropping 80$ on a medium game is not a thing i'm doing anymore. Hey i'm not even buying GoW 3 because i know everyone is getting it, i'll just borrow from friend.I really liked the demo. After reviews though, I'm not so sure...

The big thing I always think and say is this - I am 24 now and when I was younger I did not have reviews and even if there were reviews I did not care I played what made me happy and what I myself as an individual enjoyed. There are so many different things out there that cater to people and if you are pulled into this game like I am, then just go for it, it's your money who cares don't let others make your own decisions.
i was a hater at first, grumbling about how they'd butchered my favorite non-Harry Potter book, and i was really ignoring this game up until the demo came out. then, i gave it a try and absolutely loved it! though the scores from IGN and Gamespot especially dissapointed me, Destructoid gave it a 9 and i have a feeling i'm really gonna like it! besides, i already got the platinum in God of War II and am 2 trophies away from the plat in God of War 1, so i need a good game to keep me entertained after i beat Assassin's Creed II before God of War III comes out :-)
I thought the demo was ok. But, the review is quite disappointing and I am not sure if I will pick this game up.
I don't understand, if you like the demo then why do you care what someone else says?I really liked the demo. After reviews though, I'm not so sure...

I had a lot of fun with the demo so I'm still getting it regardless of reviews. Fun game is fun.

ummmmm.....i buying both.....
Exactly. Now if people were just buying this and NOT God of War, then maybe I'd question their logic :P
There is a difference between building off of and improving upon another game mechanics and simply copying another game... DI is a clone without inovation and I don't reward those type of games with my money...
I'll still be getting the game. PS3 has all those nice bonuses with the preorder.
My god! Gamespot gave a game with an average of 7-7.5 a 6.5. Even when taking into account that they round their scores and other sites have given the game 8-9.5, they still seem to be going completely ****** crazy. It's madness. How could any site be so bad at reviewing.Neither were ever going to be "day 1" for me. But gamespot really seems to be all over the place with their reviews lately.
The funny thing about an average score is that in order for an average score to be something like a 7 some sites/people have to give the game less than a 7 while others give it more (unless every site writes the same review with the same score).
it deserves it's pathetic score. developers who are too lazy to think of their own ideas don't deserve a job.

Haven't seen a Game about Dantes Inferno so far. Dunno if it's just me, but I can't see where they were to lazy to think oO Never before have I seen a such well designed hell :/ Just because they share Gameplayelements of other Games doesn't make the devs too lazy oO btw. you have Kz2 on your trophy card as last played: Where weren't they to lazy? It's just *another shooter* and there is nothing in the game that hasn't been done before oO

Archonills is 100%right. To be honest, although the level design is not as "intricate" as in Darksiders - and GOW3's will be -, you must play it when you have levelled up. There is some weird zooming in and out, camera tilting and slowing down when you do some serious damage, and you can easily link several special moves especially aerial. I think people's problem with this game is perhaps having played too many similar games. The way someone would find a 2d side scrolling game boring, after having spent his childhood playing Mario and Sonic. Please Log In to post.
