Dante's Inferno Score...

Anyone else upset over the fact that Dante's Inferno got a horrible review? I mean, I haven't played it yet, but the review given by gamespot really tears it a new one. I was really looking forward to this game, however now I feel like EA just really messed up a game that had so much potential. Anyone else have any thoughts about this?

I watched the video review on GS last night. If the last 1/3 of the game is really as bad as the review sounds, then EA and its developer deserve that score and all its failings. It sounds like they just rushed the thing out the door with only about half of the original ideas finished. There is no excuse for that and its an obvious rip off to their customers.

Yeah, I was pretty upset. Oh well, I'll get it when it costs $20. I guess I'm just gonna use the extra $60 I was planning to spend on this game and put it towards my RAM upgrade.

I'll probably get it later when it's on Platinum hit or something. Do you guys think EA rush it out to beat GoW3 release date?

I havent watched or read the Gamespot Review (and Im not going too) but i played the demo, and i didnt think it was all that bad. It couldnt compare to GOW, But it was alright.

There's a lot of bias behind this game since it's a spin-off of the God of War series, and I'm wondering if that may have had an effect on the score it received. Reviews are just written by other gamers, after all.

Metacritic's average score puts it at around 75, which isn't completely terrible, but this is definitely looking like a renter for me.

well I wasn't impressed with the demo at all... and Im not surprised that it got such a low score, and biased or not EVERYONE was comparing this game to the GOW series and its because it got a low score that everyone's screaming biased but if it had gotten a better score there'd be "GOW KILLER" rants. Both IGN and Gamespot gave the game an average score so obviously it isn't the gamespot reviewer.

The only reviewer that should matter is YOU so shut up and give it a rental lol

I never want to see a game flop, but I must admit it makes me feel better about WKC flopping :P

I might pick this game up when it hits a very low price. EA games usually tend to drop in price pretty quickly.

I am not too surprised by the score. I in a way expected it to score low. Even the demo was pretty bad in my opinion.

I wasn't expecting much but I don't care for review scores. I will be getting the game but not right now, I will get it when the price drops or when gamestop has the buy 2 used games get 1 free deal.azzezino

First of all, why not try the game and forge your own opinion about it instead of taking a complete stranger's words for granted? Reviewers' reviews are nothing but personal opinions. Their 6.5 may (and will) be another's 9.0.

Secondly, if, for some reason, you really have to rely on reviews, don't go by that of a single site. Use sites like MetaCritic or GameRankings which take a whole bunch of reviews, compile them and make an average score.

why would you let anyone elses single opinion influence you on something you already had interest in? especially that of a jaded critic.

this site can be overly harsh sometimes and penalize a game for one con, when the game has a whole list of pros. everybody enjoys different aspects of games. what the reviewer didnt like might very well end up being your favorite part.

Im just going to pick it up since I preordered it. I will let you know how it is. Looking forward to playing it.

Seriously I think if the review was more objective then no matter how harsh, it'd be justified. But instead, we got a fanboy reviewed it with part facts, part zealous fanboy rage, and mixed them up and produced this very tainted "review". Apparently, media outlet, though completely personal opinion in nature now does affect game units moved for its first week. This reviewer should be held responsible for the game losses. If I were EA i would protest against this kind of nonsense.

Well, I have seen many reviews including the watched review on gametrailers and I believe it is biased. They compare it so much to God of War in the good ways and don't in the bad way(Loved God of War btw). I have seen one part where they say the puzzles annoying this and that about enemies keep popping up to stop you. They did the exact same thing in God of War, I was just playing both of those last week and they didn't get rated lower cuz of it. I just think it is based on popularity and everything, the reviews are off people are getting lazier. The games these days are just getting easier and when they get a bit harder people do nothing but complain. I understand how the last 3rd might be boring or whatever they said but sometimes these reviews just suck. I think it deserves more than a 6.5, 6.8 and all I've seen.

It is always nice to see games that you are anticipating score well, but I really could care less in the end. I know that I am going to enjoy it, regardless of the hatred that it is receiving. The setting and subject matter of this game greatly appeals to me and no bad review is going to detract from my enjoyment of it. Cannot wait to pop it in tonight.

After I'm done with Bioshock 2, Bayonetta, Heavy Rain, GOW 3, FF13, and GT5, I can pick both of those up for bargain prices.

Busiest Q1 EVER.

When I first played the demo I thought the game was amazing and that the gameplay was great, it was really cool, I didnt know why anyone was nagging about how much of a copy it was of GOW, and thought it would get a great review. Then I got and beat the GOW collection and I now know why everyone nagged about how much of a copy this game is, I mean its a straight rip-off with the gameplay, the boss fights, the timed button pressing finishing moves, this isnt being inspired by a game this is straight up copying the game, only using a poem for the story. It deserves the score that it got.

I haven't seen a worse score than 6.5, so how can that be a 'bad' score? Its not even that similar to GOW, just because the combat looks familiar. Totally different setting and everything. If anything, Darksiders felt more similar to GOW.

I was fairly interested in this game at first, but the demo was really mediocre. The negative review doesn't help much either. Oh well, I'll wait until it hits the bargain bin.

Now that a site has bought this into my attention, it must be said that now I am aware that Liam O'Brien plays War in Darksiders, I'm pretty much forced to give that game my attention at some point in time. :P So consider Dante's Inferno so down my needs list that....well.....lets just say God of War 3 comes before it. :PSymphonycometh

I own it, I love it, couldn't stop myself of getting through it, enjoyed every minute out of it, can't wait for the DLC and IMO it's one of the best games this generation (and I actually own over 100). This game delivers an atmosphear like rarely a game before it and especially playing it in a dark room with a lod surrond system gives you an experience not many games can stand a chance with :/

No, not at all. War sounds like a British guy who is trying to have a raspy, badass voice, but it just comes off as annoying.
