The game feels much like Zelda's dungeon levels, getting keys to unlock certain doors, working your way to an end level boss. You have four characters to choose from, Artemis an archer with a straight shot, a light magic user with a shorter range shot but more damage, a dark magic user that gets more powerful by absorbing dark mist, and Athena whom uses a sword and shield. Each character has a uniquealternative attack, red, green, and blue. Red is a long range weak attack, blue is a short range high damage attack, and green is a medium range spread attack. Each of these alternative attacks have a limit to how much you can use them before having to recharge, you can pick up little moon shape items to level them up, leveling them up just gives you more uses before you have to recharge.
Each character has a dodge, though it's different for everyone, Artemis rolls, the light mage levitates, the dark magic use spins in place, and Athena blocks with a shield, each character feels very different. There are probably about 10 different enemy types in the game, each with a gold color variation of itself that is. There is "dark mist" in the game which acts as a fog of war, you can't see into it unless you walk into it, at which point you can't see out of it. You can destroy it however by shaking your controller which will do a spin attack, which has other uses as well such as shaking bad guys off of you or absorbing enemy bullets. The expansion adds more of the same but I'd play through the game itself before you purchase the expansion. The expansion adds element ****levels with a earth level, water, fire, and ice. It's pretty black and white whether you'll want it or not. The multiplayer modes are just arena based, who can get the highest score kind of deal, I didn't care for it really.
It's been awhile since I played it last, I purchased it when I got my PS3 about 3 years ago so you'll have to forgive me if I've left some details out. I still have it installed and recently started a new game. I highly recommend that you get the game, as I said, if you're a fan of dungeon lurking in Zelda.
