@oi_oi_spanky: Faith characters are not defensive buff characters. Sure they have some abilities that do buff, but they are known for having powerful Faith weapons and extremely powerful offensive Faith miracles (Wrath of Gods, Sunlight Spear, etc) and healing miralces. There doesn't really even appear to be any good Faith weapons in the game so you have to make your own Blessed or Lightening weapons (which sucks because you don't even get the Blessed Gem until towards the end of the Cathedral of the Deep and you don't get the Lightening Gem until later. I'm just about to beat the Cathedral of the Deep and the only offensive miracle I have found is Lightening Spear (which has gotten ridiculously nerfed in this game when compared to its predecessors). To make matters worse, Faith now does physical damage (makes no sense) instead of a unique magic or lightening damage which makes it pretty bad this time around. I have a level 50 herald and it has been an absolute struggle... from what I have seen Miracles and Spells have been really gimped this time around.
I started a magic Knight and I am struggling as well- I keep getting into PVP with people who have much better gear than me and it makes me wonder where they are getting all this stuff from.
I don't really have any sense of direction in this game which was a huge problem that Dark Souls II had. I just get lost so easy with these big maps as opposed to Demons' Souls and Dark Souls which were a bit more linear. Maybe it will get better as I level, but right now I have been struggling with finding good spells / miracles and gear (weapons, armors, etc). These issues didn't start happening until Dark Souls II which I consider a great game, but a low point for the franchise. Demons' Souls while not as polished as newer entries like Dark Souls III, still remains my favorite. It had the best bosses, the best enemies, the best weapons and the best armor hands down. (It just lacked a bit in the miracle department). Dark Souls was about as close to Demons' Souls the series has ever gotten, but I just feel like when Dark Souls II came around the whole series just went in an entirely different direction (more like a U Turn) and the series still hasn't recovered some of those mishaps. Don't get me wrong because Dark Souls II is a great game, but for me it isn't as good as Demons' Souls or the original Dark Souls.
On a side note- I really wish this game was just made for PS4/XBox One as opposed to being made for PS3/360 and ported over to PS4- definitely not Bloodborne graphics.
