I was thinking of getting dark souls but I heard that check points are not so frequent and if I died I have to replay big portions of the game.I don't mind if the game is hard but I can't stand repeating the same suff several times.is that the right game for me?

Nope. There is A LOT of trial and error.

That being said, it is a very rewarding game.

this is the poster child of replaying sections of a game over and over for perfection... you may end up replaying a section 10 times or more before you get it right, especially when faced with difficult bosses. It's part of the game, and if that's not your style, then that's okay, but I wouldn't drop 30 bucks on it (that's the price at Gamestop right now), as I really think you are going to hate it. In terms of checkpoints though, Demon's Souls was definitely worse than Dark Souls... both are amazing games imo

To be honest, it isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Granted I'm a veteran as far as the souls games, but once you have a grasp on the mechanics you'll be fine. If you like dark RPGs this is at least worth a rental or a drop from GameFly. The truth of the matter is that the feel of the game is more imposing than the actual game itself. If you have a good aptitude for timing, parries can wreck nearly all of the enemies. Also there is now a wide DaS community with a wiki and walk through if you like that kind of thing. The majority of players also play it for the co-op which makes things a lot easier. The aspect of doing something repetitive hold true however. You can just help your fellow players until you think you're ready for a particular area. The game is certainly worth a play however and it feels very rewarding. If you needed any help, I would even be willing to do so. This is just too good a game to miss out on.

nope. save the money for something you know you'll enjoy. gaming is a hobby, not a test that you must overcome.

It somewhat depends on how good you are, but patience is surely used in this game. With the difficulty it has. At least, it's very rewarding :D

I gave up dark souls not because of the difficulty, but because I wanted to play other games as well, I mean I had 60 hours clicked in and was just on Blight town, and I read some people complete the game in 60 hours!!!

Dark Souls isn't really hard at all, the problem is... Is that people button smash to much, and with Dark Souls, you have to usually get 1 or 2 hits in, then block, because usually anything more than 3 will result in you getting damaged..... Another thing is, know you're enemies attack patterns, then you'd be golden, and progress easily, and know when to block...

Make a royal character and the game is going to be piece of cake.

Royals are in Demon's Souls. Not Dark Souls.

My first playthrough took 48 hours, and that was without a guide. But then again, i had played Demon's Souls so i didn't find the game that difficult compared to those who had not i guess. Anyway we can't tell you anymore than the fact Dark Souls does require patience, i didn't actually find the game that hard because i took it slowly and always carefully moved around. Though that requires patience, which you claim you don't have. So the game probably isn't for you, which is a shame cause your missing out on one of the most rewarding games ever made.

I call BS. There is no way you saw the entire game without help in 48hrs on the first playthrough. There is way too much trial and error in boss battles and just overall finding you way around Lordran without help. You're so full of BS, I'm a Demon's Souls VET, beat it with NO HELP, Dark Souls was ten times harder and even I needed a bit of guidance finding my way around Lordran. You're a blatant liar, I would bet anything you used youtube vids and walkthroughs, the average time to complete the game is around 75-90hrs with no help, and even more if you want to find the Great Hollow, Ash Lake, Undead Asylum revisited, and Painting World of Ariamis. You're so full of BS dude, I'm 130hrs in on New Game Plus and even I haven't seen everything yet. I hate internet liars like you.
