Hey everyone

I have a few questions concerning Dark Souls:

1) Can you give your thoughts on it (mini review if you will)

2) I have demons souls but never really got into it, will i be able to just play this without playing demons souls

3) How long is it in gameplay?

Cheers

I haven't played Dark Souls, but even demons souls you could probably put a years worth of time into if you really felt like it. It's a massive rpg. You don't need to worry about how many hours it takes, especially when the creator said he actually hopes gamers don't beat it. For some reason he said it would be more fun to never beat the game.

I'd love to explain it to you, but unfortunately the copy I got in the mail today that I pre-ordered from Amazon was the Standard Edition and I was supposed to have the Collector's Edition, so I have to wait for it to get there, get a return, and then have them ship me the correct version first.

I love the game, been dying all day.. if you didn't get into demon's souls then you probably won''t get into dark souls since they are very similar.

1] Flawless. Everything I could hope for in an RPG. 2] I never beat Demons Souls - only got halfway through it. I think there's a cohesive storyline somewhere in there, but from what I've played of Dark Souls, the two don't seem to be related. 3] I've been playing for an hour and a half and I'm level 8. The max level is 700. That should give you a good idea of how long it'll take you to "beat" it.

Especially when you consider that each level becomes harder to achieve. Yeah, this game has tons of awesome replayability. Can't wait to dive into it tonight!

1) Absolutely amazing game, can't recommend it more 2) There is no story correlation between the two games. Playing Demon's Souls will serve as a demonstration of some of the challenge you will face in Dark Souls, not to mention it is a great game overall. 3) It really depends on how much you die. I imagine it can take anywhere from 30-80 hours depending on how long each area takes you and how much effort you put into exploration.

Demons' souls isn't necessary but for all extensive purposes this is the sequel

so far i'm absolutely loving it. usually i hate having to redue stretches of games when i die, but i actually dont care in the slightest with this game. i can't even say that about demons souls

in terms of length, i've heard it could take you upwards of 50 and you'll still be nowhere into the game. I'm about 5 hours in and i still haven't rung that bell from the e3 demo. i've been doing pretty good too, I've only died about 3 times and i've managed to recover my souls each time.

If you couldn't "get into" Demons Souls, you should probably look else where. Demons Souls was as about as immersive as a game could get. Yes, I have a platinum trophy for Demons Souls, and yes, I still play it alot! With world and personal tendencies, there are still plot lines opening up, after over 300 hours of play. Dark Souls is everything there and then some; more of what didn't impress you with Demons Souls. Maybe you'll change your mind after you wake up from the coma. ;)
