Dark Void's demo doesn't make me certain it's going to be a bad game, nor good..

Dark Void demo didn't show a lot of things. It didn't show vertical combat, and didn't showcase it's story. Both things could potentially be it's strong points, but they could be weak as well.

Flying wasn't bad. I liked how the map showed whether the enemies were below, above, or at your level. Maneuvering was odd but wasn't that bad, you don't have to hold the right stick in, you can just press it once.

The scenery, the graphics were nothing special, very poor texture scaling and very little depth. Fighting in tight corridors doesn't fit third person gameplay and the first weapon you get is seriously underpowered. Also enemies do this weird thing where it looks like they're dying, but they spring back up. The crawlers were cool, but a ***** to fight in thight corridors. Also, they were too easy. What, they attack you, you waggle the stick and you're free. Unless I missed something? They also didn't fit with the overall sillyness. The AI is really bad and glitchy, I heard shooting from a guy who was from another place in the structure after some walking and two left turns.

Then this giant thing springs up and some people shoot at it with their puny guns like idiots. I can't kill a regular foe with two clips, what were they trying to accomplish outside of getting killed?

The flying was alright but to maneuver was awkward. You have to press the R3 button in order to maneuver out of the way. The game seems like it is going to be mediocre at best. It didn't show me anything special.

I liked flying really really high, pressing "X" to hover, and then pressing "O" to freefall to my death. That was the extent of my enjoyment with this demo. The flying is fine, but the take-offs, manuevers, and lands are atrocious. All three of those commands are very integrel to a game like this and for them to be so much of a pain is ridiculous. I also disapprove of the Uncharted-style gunplay (y'know, shoot shoot shoot... reload... shoot shoot - finally! He's dead!). Unless the story is really really good I don't see me wasting my time on this game. Whoever decided to release a demo for this game - though I'm glad they did - should be fired.

They lost me with the demo... I thought it was rather awkward to play and dull. Not like the game was really on my radar to begin with, but if this is just a taste of the full game, I'm just going to pass alltogether on this one. Or at least till I'm surprised by bunch of very positive reviews. :P

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that good either. The in-flight maneuvering seemed like the biggest flaw to me, along with the terribly stupid AI.

It felt like a rip off of Unchated with a Jet pack.

And it felt very watered down.

I thought it was terrible compared to what it could have been.

But thats just my opinion, and it was only the demo.

Agree completely. The flight controls / aiming being basically relegated to the left stick are what kill it for me. Maybe if they incorporate a little auto targeting there like when you're driving the Deuce in Brutal Legend it would work (only for the flying parts though). The cover shooting parts feel like Uncharted without that extra "oomph." The other minor annoyance to me is that is basically cops controls from Uncharted / inFamous, but it switches up 2 of the most common buttons: Square for melee and Circle for cover. Having those 2 switched was a pain in my eyes. However, if the game has alternate control schemes or button mapping then all is forgiven.

I played the demo once, thought it sucked, and felt bad that it wasn't better. So I gave it a second chance. I went back, played through it again, and...it's not bad. I mean, it's not GREAT, but it's not terrible like I once thought. Parts of the game do feel like it's still in Alpha though, which is NOT a good thing.

They lost me with the demo as well. Worth a rent, but nothing more for me. I am expecting average scores for this game now.

i've just played the demo and i'm not really impressed,bad camera,fiddly controls,the shooting isn't so good,maybe that's just because it's a demo maybe the full game is better who knows

Well, the first thing I thought when I first saw an announcement of the game was "meh, but hey it could be decent", then I saw a video of a boss fight and lo and behold there were quick time events... so I gave up on it right then, seriously developers MUST stop using those things, I hate them, It's the biggest immersion breaker ever, you are fighting like crazy, dodging bullets or whatever, then you land a strike and suddenly you're not in control anymore.. the only thing you can do is wait for stupid button images to flash on screen so you can press them...

I thought the demo was pretty fun. I'm kind of bored with shooters, and the flying at least added something new to it. The vertical aspect of the environment was pretty cool. But there are so many other more remarkable games out right now, I don't think I'll be picking this up until I find it in the bargain bin eventually.

I feel the same way,I thought it was "OK" but it's a game I don't see me buying.....anytime soon at least.

havent played the demo, but from looking at a bunch of gameplay videos, doesnt look that great. flying, hovering above enemies and up to higher areas looks pretty shakey and gun play doesnt look to special. games looks to be average at best. im sure it will have its good points and maybe some creativity in it but overall im not really excited for it and looks to be a big pass

aiming is tremendously horrible...same for air combat...the camera is extremely bad and never points where you are looking to...the combat is really boring...this is gonna be a bad game

I'm surprised Capcom is releasing a game this bad. I was not impressed with it at all. Capcom, come on, first Bionic Commando, now this. Are they having another separate studio develop one of their games? Like they did with Bionic Commando? This is getting ridiculous and it needs to stop.

the length of the game was the only thing keeping me interested. and then i found out it was only about 8 hours long with little to no replay value... pass..
