As soon as I saw the review I knew there was something extremely wrong with it. They're acting as if this game is a full blown 59.99 retail game, which it clearly isn't.

Its personal opinion from reviewers. THey also gave boom boom rocket a bad review, a live arcade title, and I play that game almost everyday because of its simplicity and the amount of fun I have with it.

I was trying to find a similar case and UNO came to my mind. I mean, all you do is play UNO. Sure, you can adjust the rules, but in the end it's still UNO and it's not a game you necessarily want to play against the A.I.

Uno is awesome. I think the ps3 should have its own version. On the 360 the reason it such a popular game is because its verry affordable at 400(around $4) and its verry social. Yes it is just a deck but I havent played CAC and if it does what uno does theres no reason it doesnt deserve a higher score.

In my opinion gamespot aren't taking their reviews seriously, a downloadable game what do they want a 15 hour game with 20 maps and 15 weapons that costs $10, and it appears that IGN and 1up are better at this, come on a game developer thinks that.

not saying UNO isn't great, but why give it a value of 8 and CAC 5 when it has 4 maps, 2 and 4 player split-screen with online play and mic support.

I think it has greater value because of its price and the multiple decks that are available to play. Also its a kickback game where all u have to do is get a drink sit on ur couch or whatever and have a good time talking to strangers or people on ur friends list.....I know that whenever I play UNO im never trying to win im just having fun talking to people about the most randomest things.

look, the bottom line is GameSpot's review/scoring approach is a problem, in that final scores are not indicative of whether a game really is fun or not. Motorstorm, Lost Planet and Chromehounds are excellent examples of games that aren't well-rounded but perform very well in what they're good at...and if played for their strengths, are much better than their score would suggest.

so the question is: should every game have to be well-rounded? How much does "sound" really matter in a generation where people are replacing their in-game music with music off their HDD's?What if a dev wants to make a game like Chromehounds that is purely about the online experience? What about Virtua Fighter, which got docked for not having online?

I've been saying it for years: game reviews here are like beauty pageants. the prettiest contestant rarely wins...it's the one that's the most well-rounded. but is that winner may not be the one YOU want to take home.

Solution is simple: use reviews as your tool to help guide you into what to expect from a game. They should not be your final decision unless there is a unanimous flaw in a game and its in a critical place for you, relative to what kinds of games you prefer.

I guess we should cry for all the $10 Xbox 360 games that came out via arcade that scored similarly? :|

Are we gonna cry for all the $10 games that got bad scores too?  Shall we organize a protest on behalf of the original PSN and XBLA games? :|

Best quote...
Avacado Platypus said... "That Gamespot s**t (review) was not good journalism. They failed to account for the intent of the game, and instead ran it through the meatgrinder that is their one-size-sits-all review system."

Most of the sub-$10 games were no where near as fun as hands-on demos have shown. Apples and oranges man. On-line comp is where it's at now.
The fact of the matter is that they used a grading formula to grade the game more inline with a $59.95 game and completely ignored that it was only $10.

I am fed up with comments like this.  Just so you know... GS gives low scores to both 360 and Wii downloadable games, too.  Stop taking opinions so seriously.  As for this thread, I'm closing it because it's a breeding ground for GS bashing.
