Yep. There are 2 types of servers. PVE and PVP. PVP allows you to battle player-controlled enemies at any time. PVE on the otherhand is pretty much hands off until a PVP battle begins... believe it's every half an hour or so? Anyway, if you get it just select a PVP server.
