Has anyone heard anything about when this is going to be released in the US. I've seen some videos on youtube about it. It's a action RPG that looks like it's a really good game. If you haven't heard about it, here's a trailer

I don't know why but I wouldn't really want to import a game. It seems like to much to go through just to get a game. Plus, I'd like to see some more videos, reviews, and other types of input before I go and have it imported to me.

well duh i did tell you about this game.. everyone who has played it has said only good things .. not to mention it has trophies lol.. i hope it comes soon, i would like to play it but not enough to go through more steps then just asking my buddy (gaming store), hey give me the game lol..I'll never import a game again, as I discovered the downlodable content is region locked, so A USA game won't work with European DLC.
I need to read more about Demon's souls, as it seems the gameplay is very hard and sometimes you die and lose all collected souls as the save points are scarce.
Right now there aren't any plans to do that, as far as I know.Has anyone heard anything about when this is going to be released in the US.

2of my friends imported the game and i gota say the game is indeed great.. i also hopeing to see a US release of this game
Planning on importing it in NOV which is my birthday just go to ebay/amazon and look up english demons soul
hrmmmmmm
so you can import this game in English?
If that is the case it's getting a purchase. If not , no chance as I can't read japanese, it just hurts my eyes to look at it to be honest.
Well, I went to playasia.com and it seems you can get a chinese version of the game that has the game in both English or Chinese. That is a very good thing. the only problem issssssssssssssss it's on back order :( :( :(

off topic but make a usa psn account and download the content .Is it english? I would look into importing it, but if I am gonna be stuck trying to read japanese there is no chance. Also, wouldnt it be region coded? How are these guys importing it and playing it unless they have *** systems?Dysantic
First, there are 2 versions of the game. There is the Japanese version which only has English voice acting. All the menus and such are in Japanese. The second version is the Asian version. This game has English everything: voices, subtitles, menus, item descriptions. The only thing that isn't English is the manual, but it comes with a small English insert that gives you the basic controls on the game. There is also a Demon's Souls wiki site that explains things more in-depth as well.
The Asian version is not region-coded at all. I don't think ANY PS3 games are region-coded anyway. It's worth an import in my opinion, but the game is truly not for everyone. The difficulty might scare some people off.

I was wondering when it was going to be released too.
I have Demon's Souls and it's great fun but really not for everyone.
I predict a lot of folks buying the game, getting their asses handed to them, and then coming to gamefaqs boards to whine about "poor game design" or "cheapness."
Well it's not a cheap game, but it is balls hard and frustrating for people accustomed to more Oblivion or Fable style action RPG's. It's sort of like the Ninja Gaiden of RPG's, only it's even less forgiving than that. Ninja Gaiden Sigma put save points every five feet while Ninja Gaiden 2 gave you your health back after each fight. In Demon's Souls, everything could be going swimmingly, you may have full health, 10,000 souls collected, brand new gear, and a big smile on your face from killing some giant demon boss, and then in the next room you're killed instantly by some pit trap and you lose everything and have to back to the start of the level with your max health cut in half.
It's brutal but really rewarding when you get into the later stages and you experiment with different classes. Fun, but given the influence of casual gamers in the market these days, only a small fraction of people will dig it.

I agree with you. I have the game as well, and it is painstakingly difficult. It's very gut-wrenching to progress very far in a level and then lose it all. It took me 5 attempts to just open the giant gate in the first level. After awhile I said screw it and just returned to the Nexus to gather my bearings. Really fun game, but extremely hard. That might scare some people off for sure.
Hmm so it does sound like its difficult. I get mad at every game I play so there wouldn't be much of a surprise when I'm screaming cuss words at my TV and saying how much a hate the game, despite me actually liking it. I'd consider myself above the "casual gamer" so I hopefully the difficult would be enough to piss me off, but not too much that I break a controller (again).
Is the gameplay more like an action/adventure just with some elements of an RPG? Kind of like how Fallout 3 could be looked at by some as an FPS.

Yeah, you could look at it like an action/adventure game. It's very hack-n-slash (at least the class I chose). You can focus on magic skills more I guess to avoid endless button mashing, but there's a lot more to the game then button mashing. There's even some Assassin's Creed like gameplay where you can time a parry and score a fatal hit on an enemy. It's in slow-motion as well, so it's pretty rad. I'd still consider it an RPG though because of the leveling you have to do and the classes/skills. I think it's a fairly unique game. I haven't played much of it, but I'll get to it eventually. It's fun though.

This game really has my attention. It definitely sounds like a game that I would enjoy. Thanks for your input on it
