Demon's Soul's Bosses Question - help appreciated :)

So I've been doing some co-op and we've managed to do quite a few bosses. Does killing one count as a 'kill' for me? Like for the Phalanx boss, I got a soul and I know I've done that, but otherwise, is there anyway to tell that I've 'completed' that boss?

Info: Just killed the Temple Knight or Guard or whatever he's called with two guys (worked amazing. Knight hit his feet, I shot him with magic) and I got souls for it - that's in the 1-2 zone, Phalanx Archstone, but I haven't unlocked anything new past that... is there a 1-3 and do I need to do it solo?

At this very moment, I'm stood by the fog that's right next to Flamelurker. He's going down this time (even though I've said that on the past god knows how many occasions I've tried :P).

I killed him after the 7th or 8th try , i was a magician and only had the flame toss and the water veil , none of those helped at att , i had to melee him was was really hard as a magician , when i killed him i felt extremely satisfied .
