Demons Souls: Most number of souls you've lost?

I lost 30k this morning, after being stupid and getting jumped by one of those octopus-headed jail guards.

Which got me thinking — how many have you guys lost in one death?

I lost 15K which is my current highest so far. I usually level my character every chance I get, +1 my main weapons or purchase Heavy Arrows.

i lost over 100k once against the last boss. i was not a happy camper

150K, while farming the grim reaper at the start of 4-2, I usually just kill him and run off the cliff, rinse and repeat, wasn't thinking and committed suicide without touching my blood stain, I'm sure there are ppl that have lost many more than I have, since the higher lvl you are, the more souls you need to raise an attribute. Its costing me 80k to raise one attribute point atm.

I hate that they made the game that way and I hate that they made it so other gamers can invade your world and kill you. hmmm. Can't they only invade you if you play in body form?

I have only ever been invaded in body form...for the most part I play the game in soul form with a cling ring anyways and just use an ephameral eyes when I fight a boss.

I think the fact that people can enter your game is fantastic. Makes it even more grueling

Yep, only in body form. And honestly I think it's fun. You have an HP advantage over the invading player too so you should win as long as you're careful. But it's probably not a good idea to farm in body form (then again it shouldn't be too hard to recover your souls so maybe it's no big deal)

can you not save the souls you have? I should be getting the game in a couple of days can't wait! XD4NTESINF3RNOX

No you either use them or risk losing them when you die. If you do die you can reclaim them by making it back to your bloodstain, but you've only got one shot, if you die before getting there they are gone forever.

Maybe so, but it's just annoying to have someone do it while I'm only interested in completing the game story mode. And it's sometimes easier to get through some tough parts with a maxed out health bar. You should be able to choose whether you want to be connected to online like with other games and not have it forced upon you.

ummmmmm actually, yes you SHOULD lose them if you die more than once. They developed the game to be that way so that is the way that it is. Do you know how easy this game would be if you could die 100 times and STILL get all of your souls back? That would be outrageous!!! People wouldn't play the game with caution, which is what you are suppose to do.

This game is perfectly balanced in every way as far as I have experienced in my 30+ hours of playing.

EDIT: To answer the OPs question, I believe the most I have lost is somewhere between 20-30k. No big deal. I might freak out if I lost 100k+ though

This is a little off topic but why in tower of latria (or whatever it's called) when I use the blue stone sometimes I am summoned as a black phantom?

On topic the most I ever lost was at one time isabout 5K. Total i'm sure I've lost several thousand.

130K a really stupid death falling off a walkway on 3-2.

Lost 80k less than a quarter of a health bar away from beating the False King.

Very good thread TC. The most number of souls I have lost is around 110 k. It sucked big time.

You guys are making me feel much better about my soul losses this morning. (I was yelling at the TV as the prison guard picked me up and impaled me with its spike.) Now that I'm a bit deeper in the game, I've found a few farming spots, but 30k still hurt. I've had lots of 5-8k soul losses, but this was the first really big one.

Whenever it happens, I try to tell myself, "At least you didn't lose any items."

Still, it's a great game. The best part is that it rewards you for all the punishment you have to endure.

I can't believe you admit to using that glitch. I guess the game is just too much for you eh? I have heard that the ps button glitch can also corrupt your game file. . .just remember that ;)

300k or so i think? may have been 500k even i was grinding in 4.2 and got 1 shot by a ray when i was going back to my blood stain. 1 shot me because i had my back to it.

I'm only on 2-1 so the most I've lost is like 4 or 5 thousand. I was pretty pissed too but seeing how much some of you guys have lost I guess its really not that bad :P

90k....yep, i wanted to kill somethin foreal. took me an hour to collect em and i was gonna stop at 100k and cash them all in. i was getting tired and lazy and started under estimating the enemy when it happened. i was like :shock: :? :cry:

the most I've ever lost is around 50k. recently the most I've lost has only been 22k.

Ive only lost about 10k, and because I was to lazy to go back to my bloodstain, easy come easy go

biggest lost I've had was like 80k...

50k this morning. Wanted to kill myself xD.

At least, faming the Reaper in 4-2 and the skeletons after it nails around 10k so I got it back quickly. Still. It hurted
