Demon's Souls: Valley of Defilement

Does anyone else find this world BORING and ANNOYING?!?

The other 4 worlds look so awesome and have really cool enemies ... this one just seems BLAH with a bit of UGH

I don't find it boring or annoying, but it is my least favorite world.

its boring in my opinion as well and can be annoying at times.

I don't even care about the extras in this level - I just want to get it over with and never come back again until NG+

Is that the giant swamp? Yes, I hated that level so much, you walk so, so slowly, it's like a giant maze, and, not to mention, the meat cleaver wielding Black Phantoms.

boring and annoying, yes and yes. it took all the charm out of the BBS build...

theres this sword that has magic stats you can find it buylooking for that slugs nest wheres theres a bunch of them stuck together

This is my least liked world, but still, its not that bad. Its the only place you can get Faintstones for a blessed weapon, so all faith builds have to deal with it.

Hehehe, i actually disliked more 5-1 than 5-2, the swamp is so wide that you can avoid a lot of fights. And for poison never had too much trouble, im always using the Black Leather set + Ring of poison resistance :P

I didnt liked that much 5-1 its because most fights are almost mandatory, and its very narrow and you can fall to your death easily.

So - you didn't mind the wallowing through 5-1 and 5-2 JUST to get to those 2? I seriously find it boring ... and annoying in the sense that I sometimes find myself wanting to quit because I'm so bored ... has nothing to do with not knowing what to do. I knwo what to do and I am through it now. I just hated it at that moment in time.

I LOVE going back to Shrine of Storms - THAT LEVEL, my friends ... is AMAZING

Valley of Defilement is a bad world, though I'm not sure - Latria might be worse in my opinion. Boletaria and Shrine of Storms were my favorites, and Stonefang was alright. Something about Latria just really got to me... but those swamp babies in 5-3 are the nastiest enemies in the entire game. Don't believe me? Jump into the pit for a challenge.

It's only boring if you don't know where you're going because it's an open area.

yes didn't like it either, and for the last world it was disapointing.

I think it gets much better after the first boss. I liked it. It was kind of claustrophobic, different from the other worlds.

wholeheartedly agree with the TC. It is places like this and other things that made me start to hate DS. how can anyone consider a game that has pitch black levels fun?

I hate valley of defilement . I HATE IT, I HATE IT . I had troubles in the normal game and new game+ is just a complete nightmare .The bosses are cheap, but the level isn't boring . It's an interesting distraction from the other levels and it is meant to make you depressed and give you a feeling you don't wanna be there . the big goblins in the swamp, the small paths leading you to death...it's the only level you don't get invaded in...and that alone says enough !!

I do appreciate the construction of the atmosphere, but actuallty playing through it made me want to vomit ... which is what they were going for - and they NAILED IT!

I had no problems with those red babies ... I have a White Bow +2 and with 2 heavy arrows, they were goners

Oh man, I hate those giant depraved ones, especially the Black Phantom versions. Shields are virtually useless against them and you can't really dodge their attacks either, because of the swamp water.
