I'm a big fan of any kind of RPG, I pre-order Dragon Orgins already. Beat good ole Fallout and Oblivion already. I don't want the DLC for Fallout. So is Demons Soul really as hard as all the reviews say? It does look good, but is it worth the investment or should i wait a month for MW2 and Dragon Origins.

Now that I know you have to equip the Cling ring (silly me) and the Blue Stone is what makes online a breeze... the answer is simple: yes.

That simple huh? Might as well go purchase it then. Everyone is raving about it....Either raving about how good it is or about how some big demon keeps killing them. One or the other

I'm so on the fence about this game. I love RPGs like that but I dunno if I have the patience anymore to play such a demanding game. Argh 10 years ago I would have got it and devoted my life to it haha. If only I could be in middle school again and have no responsibilities at all.

If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and BUY IT (if you can find it). Its so unique that this game will go in the library with Ico and others.

This game is simply amazing in every way. Uncharted 2 is still sitting next to me sealed while I play Demons souls.

I was on the fence too, but glad I jumped it. Just buy it...you will not regret it. This game will literally last you 100+ hours with NG and NG+.

Is there a big learning curve due to controls and what not or is it basically just the stragetic part that makes it hard?

i found the controls very straight forward. left shoulder buttons for left-handed weapons (or shield) and right should buttons for right handed weapons. D-pad to change your items, weapons, and spells/miracles. square to use the items. circle to roll/sprint. and that's pretty much it.

yeah the controls dont take long at all to get used to, but at first i kept using all of my health and other items because im so used to square being the attack button lol.

DEFINITELY worth getting. As another poster said get it now. It doesn't look like too many copies were made. I got the last copy on Friday from my local. This one will be right up there with REZ, ICO, Okami & all the other hard to find games from last gen. Oh and it's a blast. I wouldn't call hard but rather bruatlly punishing if you're careless & don't apply strategy towards the enemies. Even when you do apply thinking you STILL die a lot though.

Think of it this way, from my situation : Ever since I started college, I found little time to play my precious jRPGs. I've always been a big fan of jRPGs since my early childhood, and generally dislikes wRPGs like Diablo and Morrowind. At some point, I completely stopped playing console jRPGs, despite great titles like Persona 3 FES, Persona 4, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, etc. I never even finished Final Fantasy XII (and I always finished all my Final Fantasy games to a 100%). When this game was announced, I at first disregarded it due to its "western influence". But as previews mounted up, I decided to preorder it, thinking it would rejuvenate my interest in RPGs. And guess what happened : I've spent already over 40 hours in the game, and I've only had it for 4 days. And I am only half-way through my first playthrough. This is the most fun RPG I've had since... Since... probably Final Fantasy X on the PS2. And it plays so differently from any other RPG, wRPG or jRPG alike. Today, I picked up my preorder for Uncharted 2, and I didn't even have a slight bit of interest to try it out (too much fun getting elite equipment in Demon's Souls). And Uncharted 2 was my most anticipated game of the year, too. Demon's Souls has officially taken up my no.1 spot for my personal GOTY (until I try Uncharted 2, that is, lol).

lol i know ive been having so much fun with demon's souls i was wondering if i should start uncharted today or wait until after demon's souls. since demon's souls will probly last around 80 hours, i decided to play some uncharted 2 tonight, and WOW. lol its good, very very very good. but as soon as im done with uncharted 2's single player, its right back to demon's souls. i havent had this many single player experiences to go through at the same time in maybe forever lol.

You like any kind of RPG but don't seem to have that many JRPG's in your roster. Are you sure you like all kinds of RPGs?

Demon's Souls is hands down my favourite RPG this gen. I've been trying to get all pure white/black world tendency events on my frist playthrough so there's been a lot of grinding/farming for me so far.

Is it worth it? Yes. If you're going to be sticking with the game you can easily put dozens of hours into it before you know it.

It's absolutely worth getting. It's the most innovative game I've played all year. I love fallout 3... to pieces, but it doesn't have 1/10th the innovation that Demon's Souls has. I swear, now that people have seen how online play can be seamlessly incorporated into offline play so creatively, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we begin seeing a number of games that ape the innovations in Demon's Souls in the near future.

Defintely worth it, it's not as hard as some people would make you believe. You just have to be careful and use the right equipment. I've only finished the first main boss though, I guess it'll get a lot harder.

Yes. Aslong as you are craving something different and innovative (online-wise). I have been playing it since launch even over Uncharted 2 right now. I am making a Samurai type character and loving it. The game is challenging and you will die in stupid ways. Patience is the name of the game for this one.
