its a mix. like you have this area and an objective and there is multiple paths and ways to complete an objective. but it aint like GTA where you can just go anywhere in this big massive world its really the best of both worlds

Actually, there is a bit of an open world element to it. When you are on a mission, you have several paths you can take and side objectives that you can pursue. When you are not in a mission you will have to traverse a large city to get to the different missions that are available. If you've played Halo ODST you will know kind of what I'm talking about. Not as much combat between missions, though. Also, not to be a douche, but... doubt not doudt.

Deus EX will score between 9-9.5 on all sights. It's a great game to play through.

If it's like the original (and it looks to be) you'll get to have a large area to play with that has numerous paths, a lot of side missions, and each mission offers different ways to complete it. Basically, it's not linear but does have limits so it's not fully open world. Still, I'd say it's more open world than linear since you can skip a lot of stuff that isn't in the main quests, though it's not advisable. Other than that I'd say it'll get between an 8.5 and a 9 on here since they're weird with what they nitpick.

By no means linear. It has what many people call an "illusion of open world." That is, you'll feel like it's open world due to the huge offered area at every mission, yet at the same time you can't access every area whenever you want. If you're familiar with the Splinter Cell games then it's honestly the closest example I can think of; you're thrown into an area and you have the utmost freedom of which path you want to reach the goal, yet that area is disconnected from others.

As for score I'm not expecting more than 8. But I could live without scores :P

Soooooooooo basically like crysis 2?????? where they give you the envoironment, but how you go about it is up too you? but with more of a world of odst rather then the crysis 2 world???

I was hoping for more of a (minus the graphics and clunkiness) Deadly Premonition..

bummmmmmmmer.

it's a lot more open than crysis 2, it's basically like a whole bunch of little open worlds. the easiest to compare it to is crysis 2, but in terms of size it's not as big as an AC city but is more of that type of feel. Really, don't let that make you not want to play the game, it looks to be amazing in pretty much every aspect.

From what they explained in the gameplay videos, it's far from linear.

Like an ODST AC style open world(s).. i can dig it. kinda reminds me of a less linear metro 2033. (mainly with the stealth thing going on haha)

Im totally picking this up today and im stoked.
