So I am getting two games this month, one will be Batman Arkham City, and for the other one I am between KOA and Deus Ex. I really liked the gameplay in the KOA demo but the customization and the story seemed weak. I haven't played Deus Ex yet, it's story and gameplay look pretty decent but I am pretty worried about it's replayability and length

I have both, and definitely enjoy Deus Ex significantly more. That being said, they're completely different games. Deus Ex is relatively linear with some side-missions and a hub to explore, whil Amalur is a huge world that's completely open. Deus Ex is all about decisions and ambiguous morality, whereas in Amalur you're given zero choices. I spent about 60 hours in Amalur, and was basically at the end of the game. I couldn't finish it though, as the combat is rather frustrating at that point. The entire quest structure is rather bland as well, but it certainty has it's charm. I'm just surprised such a huge world has so little bugs. Puts Fallout and Skyrim to absolute shame. The only truly awful thing about Deus Ex is the boss battles. Totally don't fit with the rest of the gameplay, requiring brute force and gunplay.

Both are great, but if I had to choose one I'd go with Deus Ex, it's terrific. Amalur is a really good game as well though.

Personally I'd take both Deus Ex and Reckoning over Batman AC anyday, Deus Ex was my favourite game of 2011 and Reckoning so far is my favourite this year so it's hard to pick one over the other. I don't know about the DLC as I don't buy any digital DLC or games but if I had to pick just one of those 2 I'd probably go with Deus Ex, only thing I hated are the boss battles but it's still a rock solid game with a lot to offer.

To bad this isn't the PC forums because you can get Deus Ex on steam for $7.49, but it's not. I own Deus Ex, but haven't touch it yet (waiting til I build my new PC first). I don't have KoA yet, but plan on getting it. Based off all the reviews, videos, ect.. I would go with Deus Ex.

Deus ex...it's such a great game...one of the best this gen in my opinion.

KoA is decent, but I personally had a really hard time getting immersed in it, I'd play for an hour and get bored, play another hour, get bored...eventually stopped playing it.

Deus Ex.

While KoA has way more content, the quality and polish felt nothing like Deus Ex for me. That game was simply amazing.

Kingdoms of Amalur is good game, but it's cut and dry and very simple.

Deus Ex is one of the best fps/rpg hybrids around and features a pretty good story too. Go with DE

Don't worry about Deus Ex HR's length, it's easily 20 hours and there's multiple ways to approach every situation so it has quite a bit of replay value. I'd definitely go with that one.

Definitely Deus Ex! You can tackle it anyway you want. I usually prefer stealth. The game has a great story, and it's a pretty lengthy campaign.

DL DEHR, the bundle. from steam, and the two older games load and run OK, BUT NONE of the Human Rev will load or play in less than twenty mins. When it does finally load. the audio and video are so schetchy that it is UNplayable. Like droppng frames in a 128K card, and the audio is broken to pt of not understanding any of it.

That said, my gear is A-51 Alienware (Dell), 6 months old, but:::Quad core Intel@3.2 , 6 Gb Ram@1028, nVidia 580, and HS_ISP@6mps UP/1.5 Dwn. Still the game is like molases on cold moring. Steam help is NON existant, Vale NO HELP on weekends, and having only the Denver server available, that I can find. Any clue on what may be the bottleneck? My system plays all other games, in EQ the resourse hog, andDungeon Siege 3 w/o issues, other than the bugs in the codex. When I first DL DS3, the same issues were there and it was somehow cleared up after a few weeks waiting on Steam. Really HATE being beholden or required to use Steam/Valve to play a gmae I paid for, even the discounted price. That said, the older games might justify the purchace, as they are replayable, even if you know what is going on. Several possible endings and choices you make allong the way will change outcome.

Q!uick commment on Morrowind, Elder Scrolls series. HUGH world, good story line, continuity among the expansions, (do not have Skyrim), and replayable for weeks, if not months. Great graphics, good audio, decent story line and lots of quests and side quests, tasks, etc to keep you going.

MAIN issue here is WHY is DE:HR and the expansions on Steam, Denver server, so incred slow and unplayable? WHY is Steam so reluctant to have help available on weekends when most gamers are online, IMHO.

Thanks. jdvmsr@xit.net
