It really seems like most developers invest all of their money into FPS games and i wish they would do it towards othergenres. Maybe it is just me but it gets old seeing the games that get all the hype are games like Halo, Gears of War, Killzone 2, etc. Maybe more games like Uncharted that has puzzles in an adventure setting and less emphasison fire fights.
Where have you been? The companions do invest in things other than FPS it just FPS are hyped. Sony invested money with Wizard for a card battling/trading game.
Im a really simplistic person and i can tell you that i don't really mind that there's a lot of Shooters on PS3/360 or Wii It gives me a better chance to play my favourite genre now that i can't really afford to upgrade my PC. Lol.
Love my shooters, but I'm not seeing any quality RPG's. Only one I can remember that has any hype's obviously FFXIII. I loved Foklore, and would like to see a sequal as well.
To me a lot of the shooters are almost the same as each other now. Seems like they are copying each other or repeating.They are getting really boring.Kyoshiro19
You hit it right on the nail. They are all generic and the same. I am still amazed at how popular Halo is because it seems very generic. I will give Gears of War props though for the new shooting style of having to duck and cover..

Halo's genericness (is that a word?) is prisicely the reason it's so popular. It's a game anyone can get into and play well. And it's 10 million marketing money helped it to be the most expensive generic shooter ever created. And that makes people know about it, and wanna buy it.
You guys just figured this out lol. Joke sorry. I mean who would of thought that gamers would of looked at AC and Uncharted as new things. When we used to do games like that all the time? Yea it kinda all went backwards for a few years with the 3rd raise of FPS. Which is a vary old gender of gaming. And not only do they sell, their much easier to make. Its like gaming 101.

Of course there arent a lot of RPGs because those f***ing a$$holes spend all of their money developing FPS. If they focused in the RPGs then there would be more to choose from and much better RPGs than the ones that call themselves RPG nowdays.
I agree that FPS games are getting boring with the same old crap.

Have any of you guys played BioShock yet?
It is so unbelieveably atmospheric...Most RPG's can't even match up. I only played the demo last night since I just got a 360 to compliement my PS3. I'm pretty blown away.
Call of Duty 4 is another FPS that REALLY IMPRESSED ME.
Halo 3...while good...is nowhere close to 9.5 quality. So ridiculously OVERRATED. Give me BioShock or CoD4 over it anyday.
this is why I'm on board with playstation. at least the Playstation is still getting non-FPS games. uncharted, ratchet, heavenly sword, folklore, god of war II, okami and rogue galaxy all came out in the past year...pretty much. hopefully this continues. Plus I never got a chance to play the prince of persia games on PS2 so I'm catching up on those now.
