So yea i recently bought cod4 a few days ago played through the campaign and currently level 25 on mp (yea I'm a noob) well recently (like 20min ago) i finished up a 6 hour session of cod4 (I'm addicted) and noticed i had some cramps in my hands once i took them off the controller so i immediately stopped. Can playing long sessions like this permanently damage your hands in any way? Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm an archer so i try to keep my hands arms, and eyesight as healthy as possible

of course the obvious thing to do would be to lay off the cod4 sessions i'd just like some feedback

thanks!

What do you think? I believe it is common sense that playing a game for to long will eventually hurt your hands. Slow down on the sessions. It can't really help them if you continue to play like this every day, but then again it depends on who you are.

It's possible you could get Repetitive Strain Injury or Carpal Tunnel. I experienced something like it a few weeks back and the pain was incredible. To soothe it get a hand towel, soak it in cold water and wrap it round your hand and arm. I did that for a few hours and it worked.

I used to get tingly sensations in my hands when I first played Pokemon Red and Blue. I just think that was Pokemon power coursing through my veinds though.

I don't get hand cramps at all because I never play games for more than 2-3 hours straight. I like to take breaks during gaming, so I never develop any pain in my hands.

Yeah, Pokemon can do that to you. It also depends how I'm playing as well. I used to play in bed a lot, so I'd get all these awkward positions and stuff (that sounds hawt!). I'd also have the theme music running in my head when I finally stopped playing and tried to go to bed. Ahhhh, Pokemon. How you bring back the wonders of my youth.

Honestly if you get Carpal Tunnel from video games, you need to quit for about a week. I just recommend don't hold on the the controler. i never rest my palm on my control i just... well its hard to explain without a picture and i can't find my camera.

Damn, HARDCORE, man! I'd love to do that myself, but I've injured myself at work enough times to lay off the marathon gaming. :P Seriously, I don't want to get fired for something lame like that. Carpal Tunnel + carrying hundreds of pounds all day = one horrible day.

I have a saying: Play now, work later. It's gotten me no where in life......and things couldn't be better.
