Devil May Cry 4 diserved better

I am disapointed in gamespot for only giving Devil May Cry 8.0 in score. Capcom worked so hard on the game. They should have at least gotten 9.0 in score. Just because there was to much boss fights so often, well hello that is what makes the game more cooler. What is your opinion?

8.0 is a pretty damn high score, people don't get that it's outta 10,
it's not 8.0/1000 you realize?

If it had got a 4.0 or 5.0 you could whine, but, for what it is,
8.0 is higher than I expected, and after playing it, higher than I'd have given it.

I'd have given it about a 7.0,
it wasn't exactly revolutionary, way too similar to previous titles,
graphics are awesome, and sound is great,
but the game itself, has a whole "been there, done that" feel about it...
I regret the purchase myself, would have been a good/smart rental for me.

imho DMC4 = 9.5 great way to bring the series to next gen

in thinking on buying this game, but i have some questions (cuz there is no rental place at least for ps3 games here in CR so i cant rent games) is this game good? i mean i likeed a lot the past versions ... im the type of guy that didnt complain about dmc2 and liked it lol, so it means that there is no prob to for me to play another one look-a-like dmc game sooooo is this game worth 60 bucks?? and which game is better heavenly sword or this one??

I am really enjoying 4 right now, if you like'd 2, which i also did, you like this , i'm waiting to see if there is a blood palace, thats where it's at

for me its more about the gameplay then the background which is why i think i don't mind the use of the same scenery(speaking on DMC2)

80/100 is not that great ... its like a C , average, compared a 90 which is like a B + ... imo is a big diffrence so i see why people say its a bad score ... also id like to add the fact the 360 didnt get a lower score because of the load time diff. if it was vice versa the ps3 would have gotten a lower score. I would be playing it right now but i have no gamestop around me and the only place to buy games is wallmart and... they dont even have 90% of the good games out on the release date cuz im likeee in maine

80/100 is actually a B, while 90/100 is an A....at least in terms of college grading scales.

I think 8.0 is a good score for the game. Would you really rate it as high as other games that got a 9.0 or higher? I wouldnt.

Hey. WHO CARES ABOUT REVIEWS? At the end of the day as long as you liked it then that's all that matters. I mean some of you are just need to grow up and stop riding reviews.

I'd have given it about a 7.0,
it wasn't exactly revolutionary, way too similar to previous titles,

I agree with Andrew_Xavier. Based on the demo, I'm not even going to bother picking it up. To me, it just seems like they updated the graphics and shipped it out the door. I think the transition from PS2 to PS3 should have been much more revolutionary.

Haha i want an A for effort! No but for fans the score will be higher and you can't please everyone with a game. Some games score horrible and people love them and others score very high and you play them and can't figure out the hype.

Why is it that every GS review that comes out, is often criticized? That's what player reviews are for. Although most player reviews aren't as credible as some professional ones, at least gamers have the opportunity to rate games just the same. I am not trying to defend GS here but GS isn't the only review site on the planet.

It's funny that people bash GS reviews, threaten to never use the site or take their reviews seriously, and some time later, end up back on the forums looking to complain about something else.

I agree with this guy and a few others. I still look at reviews but just to see how bad a lot of games are rated. I've seen too many games that deserved higher scores and so many that did not deserve that 9.5 score just because the score was all based on hype. So far I think the game is bad ass. Story is great so far, graphics are amazing, game play is awesome and the sound is great with my surround sound.

Heck, I bet the developers of Lair works really hard to make that lousy game...

Also, most reviews are not complaining about "too much boss fights so often", but that the same boss fights are repeated two or three times. So, I guess Capcom didn't worked so hard after all...

Hers my thing yea 8 is a high score. So that means that what game like Falo or Oblivion did should not even be close to 8s,, long enough 9s. Thats why their are people complaining about the 8s.

You give a 8 to Uncharted fine. If its a 8, and Oblivion is a 7, that about right. But its not right when Oblivion is a 9. And we all know for a fact that if Oblivion would of came to the PS3 first. And we would of not know of a 60 version It would of been a 7.

And you can say all you want about opinion. Fact is its not a opinion when its done by a professional unbiased game site that effects sales. And im sure "in fact I know" will learn more about that latter.

It's slightly underrated, I would say 8.5. But heck 8.0 is very good.

A real 8 would be fine by me, if its that. A fake Falo 9 wont make me happy thow.
