Did anybody beat the story missions without cheating. I almost did but I cheated the whole way so I decided to restart it and not cheat so I can get trophies and play it properly.

I did/always do with grand theft games. Beat it first, put in the guns and 6 star + your favorite car cheat later.
Be hardcore and take as many pigs out with you.
[QUOTE="MethodManFTW"]Yeah.. I didn't even know there were cheat codes in GTA4. :OLightRCheat codes is what made GTA GTA. San Andreas was crazy fun with cheat codes, GTA 4 should've had more. Yeah I know 3, Vice City, and San Andreas had them but I didn't really know that any games this generation had cheat codes. :P

It adds a whole lot of replayability so I don't see why they still aren't more popular. I wouldn't mind if you could only use them after you've beaten the game to...
I wanted to collect the platnum trophy for it but the game started to have issues, so I sold it and have yet to buy the complete edition with the DLCs, for now my money is going on GT5.
i've beaten all three, the main story and the DLC episodes, don't have the platinum because its hard as hell
I used to use cheats in GTA games but only to mess about. I've never actually used them to help me through the main story missions or to get 100% for that matter.
Bought the game the day it came out. I didn't rush through as I suspected there would be a trophy patch at some point.
Trophy patch released so I started again. PS3 died and I lost my game save.
Started again and got as far as opening up Algonquin however got a bit bored playing the same missions a third time so it's now sat on my shelf waiting for GT5 to stop taking all of my time.
I only completed GTA 4 once and that was with cheats as there were one or two parts I really got bogged down on (the last part being one as I kept getting lost, or screwing it up. You will find nowadays though there are less and less cheats for games, where as with the PS2 it was very rare to find a game that didn't have at least one cheat for it.
No I didn't finish it I got bored of the game. I finished Episodes from Liberty City if GTAIV had over the top missions in like Ballad of Gay Tony I might have finished GTAIV.
I have like three times without cheating. Do people still use cheat codes?

Most games don't even have cheat codes anymore, but GTA IV did I guess.
I remember in the PS2 games I pretty much just used the rocket launcher code any time I got stuck or wanted to mess around. I also remember from the PS2 game that you couldn't progress to 100% if you used cheat codes and the game labled you as a "cheater". I didn't want to even mess with that and risk screwing up my game saves and trophyset in the PS3 version.
So I never used one. Honestly GTA IV was a pretty easy game so I'm not sure why you'd even need to use cheats - other than to screw around,Although I admit I got stuck on one mission in Ballad of Gay Tony and haven't been bothered to get past it, maybe i should use a cheat code LOL. I just don't remember any hard missions at all in the main game for GTAIV.
