Did I Just Waste $40 (UK Game) HELP!

Hi I Just bought Elder Scrolls 4 Game Of The Year Edition I Bought it off eBay from UK and when I try to play it keeps saying cannot play under current video settings.... Person who I bought from said game works on Ps3's worldwide

I Messed around with settings for a while and still nothing changed on back of the case says

HDD

5400MB minimum | PAL | HD720p

I'm not all that smart with all the fancy sayings in stuff if someone would please just tell me a quick way to get it working or help it'd be greatly apprecated. Do i Need HD TV?

But when I swiched to HDTV, the problem was solved.

Do you have a PAL or an NTSC TV? I'm guessing that if you play a PAL game, you need to play it on a PAL compliant TV. I'm no expert, but if I had to guess, I'd say that most HDTVs probably handle signals the same, regardless of whether they're PAL or NTSC, but SDTVs probably process the signals differently. That may be why it works on an HDTV and not a regular TV.

Oblivion is one of the games where the SD graphics are 'locked' so to speak.
The game wants to run at PAL SD and it won't output at NTSC SD.

The game will play fine as long as you run it through a HD resolution. Otherwise if you want to play it on SD then your SOL.
