Hi everyone, I got Uncharted 2 the other day and I've been playing online death matches a lot. I've been doing really bad, I got like one kill per match and died many times... I found that it's hard to accurately shoot someone, so I have to shoot at them for a long time before I kill them (or get killed). :P Also, I'm on the team that's losing by like 20 kills 90% of the time... Did you guys have trouble with the multiplayer when you started out, or is it just me?

Not really. I actually do better at Uncharted MP than I do at most other games. Not saying I do good, just better :P

oh so much frustration. I played competitive to about level 15 and then sorta stopped. i totally agree on what you said about the game requiring wayyyyy too many bullets even at point blank to kill an opponent. The weekend a few weeks ago when they turned down everyone's health level to 65% (like in Crushing) was the best weekend. The action was super balanced, fast, and way more fun. Kills were more realistic and you played, shot, blah blah and then spawned in a few seconds and were back in. it was awesome. please naughty dog, bring back the lowered health!!!!!! (or make it a seperate game mode? :) )

It was easy, I always got like 10-20 kills in a match, but I stopped playing for like a month now.

It requires more skill than I don't know, let's say, MW2.

Most people hate the large health but i love it because it adds skill. You have to make every shot count so that you can take them down, spray and pray normally won't work because you empty the clip before they're dead which i love.

I played the online demo - once. Got killed 10 or 15 times and didn't kill anyone myself. Guys just run out and nail you with a headshot. And the only two guys with mike's couldn't say a sentence without using the "n" word. Probably explains why I haven't purchased the game yet.

I don't like to sound full of myself, but I was never bad at Uncharted 2 multiplayer. Most of the death matches I'm in I have more kills than deaths, and I would say I average about 9 or 10 kills a game. I have an overall KDR of about 1.25, which means I have more overall kills than overall deaths. I guess it's because I played Uncharted 1 so I'm used to the controls.

What's strange is that I see people with KDRs of .5 above me on the leaderboard. That means for every kill, they have two deaths.

No, I though that it was wickedly easy compared because I was used to most FPS online games where you can die in like three shots. If your health runs low, just take cover, at stat blindfiring.

I played the online mode for the first time last night. Yes i was frustrated. But i also did not like it very much. It seemed lackluster and not fun. I probably wont try it again.

Yeah, I struggled and didn't keep at it. I played maybe 6-7 matches and found it was pretty tough, and I wasn't sure I wanted to commit the time to actually getting good.

I gave up on the game rather early on. The maps were decent but didn't do the game justice, they were a bit too small thus spawn camping was a problem. Not to mention the fact that I can't play a single game without lag. It's easily the laggiest game on the PS3 and I'm someone who has clocked in over 1,000 matches on UFC Undisputed 2009 which was supposedly so laggy it was unplayable.

LOL, sure. I think it's kind of natural to feel that way when you first join online mulitplayer that has upgrading of weapons etc and people that have been playing it since launch. You are inevitably going to wind up in some games with players who have become very skilled at the different maps and at the game in general, plus they've had time to figure out what weapons work best for them and where the special weapons on each map are. I have mixed feelings about this system because it is great to feel rewarded for playing by getting upgrades etc but in Uncharted 2's case (this was true since the mp beta) I have noticed that matches are often way unbalanced - the matchmaking often sides players with the highest numbers on the same team. I was kind of surprised to see this still happens even now in matchmaking... must be all the more frustrating for players who are new to the mulitplayer.

Not sure what to say about the lag comments, honestly I rarely had any problems in my matches along those lines.

Yea it's weird because 90% of the time, I'm on the team that's losing by like 20 kills... And it can't be just because I suck :P

What this guy said. Although I might like it if the health was a tad bit lower, maybe 85-90% - that way it still takes 2 hits from the Hammer, but the AK, M4 or FAL would kill people a bit faster.

The only frustration I had with it was having to put a full clip in someone to kill them. Of course I'm used to COD games, which only take one or two bursts to kill someone. Then again, according to the people here, COD doesn't require any skill.

I've only played a couple matches since Christmas (when I got it), and I had more fun playing it than I did COD:MW2 personally. I dunno, my biggest problem with MW2 is just that you die SO easily - it feels like one bullet kills you (really frustrates me). Takes a lot more in Uncharted 2 which is interesting for me because I feel like I can survive longer, but at the same time, takes me longer to kill someone. I need more time with the game to really give a better impression though.

I don't play much online so, even though I've had my ps3 for 2 years I still consider myself a beginner. About Uncharted 2, it's complicated. It is definately not one of the hardest onlines out there, MGO is the hardest online I ever experienced. When I started with the online Beta I wasn't so bad. Now I'm normal, usually in middle place in my team and sometimes on top, depending on my allies and enemies. IMO, It is not difficult at all to be accurate compared to other games....

M4 is a beast, accuracy of a FAL and rate of the AK.

One thing I notice a lot of beginners is that they hardly use cover, they just stand in the open and take the beating.

Hint: The trick is to always keep moving and to use cover. If someone starts shooting at you get to the nearest cover, and if youre lucky he will come after you... then just blindfire for an easy kill. Also, grenades are your lifesafer. If you are about to die and your assailant is standing nearby/chasing you, toss a grenade directly beneath you for an easy Afterlife.

Im lvl 47 and I usually get 15+ kills in a match. Last night I did 39 in a plunder match :P

I don't have Uncharted 2 (I just beat Uncharted: Drake's Fortune) but it is the same way with all multiplayer games. Look at MW2 for example: While everyone is dual weilding Rangers and P90's you are stuck with basic guns until you level up. You just have to deal with it unfortunately.

oh and YES, it was frustating, because quitting games killed my rank more than 1 time and that is just DUMB. so i never was able to spend more time with it because i found that to be stupid and it did not have enough variation in its gameplay to keep me coming back.

Well in my experience in the beta, when I started it I nwas doing pretty decent, now I am much more better and continuing to do so.

UC2's mp was far more better in the beta than in the actual retail with the latest updates. Sadly I say this because I remember how great the beta was, but for some strange reason, the mp is not as good much anymore. There are many glitches that need to be fixed that include the damage and hit ratio of the weapons. For example, you throw a grenade to someone close the are sopposed to die right? not in my case,

I've seen countless times where I threw the grenade less than 5 inches from the enemy and they simply don't die, they even not get stunned and the enemy doesn't even have the booster to prevent them from getting stunned. Another good example is the grenade launcher, such a weak weapon... How can a regular grenade kill somone normally with one hit, but with a grenade launcher it take two direct hits? That makes no sense at all really.

Besides that, all the weapons need to be much more damage, or in this case put the health way down, even below 65% because that weekend ND was testing wasn't really good enough because it still takes many direct shots to kill the enemy. It should be easy also for ND if they can just make a crushing mode available for the mp, I would definetly like that to happen.
