I was just curious. I didnt. I sold all 3 of them. My original fat one (worked ok, but had trouble playing old PS1 games), second one (slim, I bought it along with the original God of War, always worked perfectly), and my third one (slim, I won it at a San Jose Sharks game by destroying a 10 year old at an ATV game, I felt kind of bad, [this was like 1 week before the PS3 lauched]) all were sold. I sold one to my friend for $60, the fat one to gamestop for $20 (needed repair for disc tray), and the last one for gamestop for $55. I did it because I needed money for my PS3. Did you sell it? Why or why not?
To tell you the truth I didn't because I still want to be able to play games like Killzone, Socom, Final Fantasy XI (11), etc. by using a hard drive. I did this because Sony only made the Slimline PlayStation 2 because people were copying thier games to the hard drive. I won't a blog about video game controllers and I mention it in the blog with link the blog is called Gaming Consoles: Controllers. So I still want to keep that feature so I'll be keeping my original PlayStation 2 console for that reason. I'm a hard core gamer so I want to play those nice games until if at all will be playable on the PLAYSTATION Network.

I live off campus with a group of friends. No one will get to my PS3 without me knowing. Trust me, I wouldnt bring it if it werent safe. lol
Sold my original PS2 years ago to buy Xbox,then sold that to get a 360-which packed up after only 10 mths-had it repaired+sold that,bought another XBox+finally now bought my PS3.

The only reason I'm keeping mine is because I still want to play some of the games online like Final Fantasy XI (11), Killzone, Socom etc. Once there's a download for a map you'll need a hard drive and the Slimline PlayStation2 doesn't support the HDD (Hard Disc Drive).
i still have mine cause not all ps2 games work well on the ps3. (well none of my games work well with the ps3)
i sold my gamecube for my wii and sold my xbox for my xbox 360 (which i kinda wish i didnt do cause there is still 2 games i cant play on it)
and my ps2 i kept it after relizing that it wasnt full 100% backwards compatable. and my ps2 acts up some times (well it doesnt work lying down only when its standing up it works.... wierd)
I just don't like getting $50 for something I paid $150 for :P
I'll show it to the kiddies when they're playing PS5 :-p

I thought that too, but I trusted the backwards compatability enough to give up the PS2s I owned. I wouldn't ever play them again so I sold them. I guess I'm not hardcore enough to keep them.

Even if i tried I couldnt get enough for it, lent it to my friend ( whom I hate now ) and he brought it back broken, kick his ass next week first day of school?
Unless they come out with a 100% compatible PS2/USB adapter (I hear of some having issues) I'm definitely keeping mine since I have DDR pads, light guns, and guitar hero.
Plus, since I have a slim one, its just so portable and so easy to take somewhere like a trip, etc.
Yes I did. Too much sentimental value in my PS2. It was with me all the way through High School, beginning to end. I experinced the GTA's on it, MGS2 on it, Gun on it, GoW on it... I couldnt sell it. Plus, it never hurts having an extra DVD player around, or a back up PS2 for later. I brought my PS1 over to my girlfriend's house and it's good to play the old games every now and then too, old systems are fun to break back out after a few years under the bed, lol.
