did you like far cry 2?

i was thinking about getting this game, on youtube lots of people are enjoying this game but on gamespot they have been scolding it. should i get this? and why. also, is the online community still strong? thanks

Online is pretty decent but there's not a huge community... I really liked this game but I sure as heck didn't finish it... The gameplay is great but the map is huge and it just seems like every missions ending HAS to be on the opposite side of the map as the beginning.. So you'll definitely get your hours out of your purchase... Just most of the hours will be walking/driving down the same roads and shooting/burning the exact same guys in the exact same outposts

It gets super repetitive with all the driving and blowing stuff up and driving some more and a little more blowing stuff up after that,

I bought it when it first came out and returned it a week later the single player was such a pain and was too annoying and the online was clunky

If you like mercenary free roam deal then you should like it. I liked it alot and enjoyed the online. It does get repetitive though.

its worth it alone for the gameplay and open world, everything else is secondary.

actually i liked that game quite a lot, sandbox gameplay is what i like most... here you can find the review i wrote for it...

apart from the things i've mentioned in the review, it's much easier to use the buses to go to locations near your mission objectives and then find a vehicle... the game is quite long if you want to finish every side mission as well, which felt repetitive, however if you mix and match and not do the same missions back to back, you'll squeaze more fun out of it...

if you like to finish every side mission you have to do it before finishing the main quest (or missions) since after you finish you cannot go back to finish the remaining missions...

Its a great game. Peope mainly critisize it because its boring, but its not. Its just a massive world to explore

I found it to be a lot of fun, interesting story, sniping is fun as hell and it's nice to look at, you'll enjoy it, people who have problems with it are just nitpicking haha.

It was ok, too many respawning enemies though.

There was way to much driving but I still enjoyed it alot. The map editor in multiplayer is alot of fun too. I downloaded a level that has a jump that goes a mile into the air and its a lot of fun with friends.

It's a great game thanks to the map editor. You'll always find a new map when playing online and it's fun to make your own. Far Cry 2 has high replay value.

I hate that game.
