Difference between the 60 gig vs the 80 gig

Just purchased my new PS3.

The guys at FRY's urged me to get the 60 gig because the 60 gig has an actual PS2 chip in it. The 80 gig doesn't and relies on software emulation for PS2 & PS1. They said Sony pulled the chip to cut back on costs. So I got the 60 gig.

Tried a PS2 and PS1 game and works great.

The US 60GB version is being phased out. The EURO Ps3 60GB already had software emulation from the getgo, but we aren't getting the 80GB version soon. Anyhoo, you can plunge a 250GB HDD in it anyways, so in that sense, it doesn't really matter.
