The only game I have ever purchased on the Playstation Store was Beats. The only reason I purchased it there was because it is not available on UMD. Had it been I would have gotten it that way.

I prefer to have the game case and an actual UMD for my PSP. It's better in my opinion, and you don't have to deal with limited downloads of something you purchased.

Also, I only have the 2 GB memory card which I like keeping videos, demos, and music on. It takes a lot of space to keep a game on a memory card.

Pretty soon though, all games released on UMD will also be available for purchase digitally at the same time.

What do you guys/girls prefer? Digital Downloads or the UMD with case and instruction booklet?

Please make sure to vote on the poll!

I like UMD's better, because I like to have the physical copy of my game, and I like the artwork that comes with the game. Also, I don't want to risk my game being erased or corrupted, wasting my money.

Yeah if you forget password/recovery question stuff you pretty much stuffed. Although MS loads faster, more portable, all in one spot. I like boxart and instruction booklets too but most of them are in B&W!!!!

I prefer digital downloads because I hate the way the spinning UMD makes the PSP vibrate, plus I don't like storing disc packages. However, digital downloads have significant disadvantages, such as the restrictive licensing/DRM and the need for costly memory sticks. Therefore, I believe that consumers should have the choice of either format.

i think a mix of the 2 is nice. Having some movies and games on UMD saves space on the memory stick. BUT having a game on the memory stick saves battery power and loads faster. The only game I buyed in DD was Wipeout pure. I first tried to buy it on UmD, but the stores kept giving me scratched old games, so i bought it on the PS store, works perfect (of course). and i have a few UMD movies that i bought cheap. and with the video out, if i really want to, i can watch them on my TV too.

Yeah that would stink. And you can't back up the game either because of the DRM. :(

You can buy a 4GB memory stick for £15, lets say you get 4 games to fit on it at £10-£20 each, that works out at ~£75

UMDs are normally around £25 for a new release so it works out at about the same, but if you had a friend or sibling with a PSP you could both use the games with just £15 extra each to get a memory stick and then you could play MP, so on most MP games you could save £60 per person after the first person, so if 5 of you all had PSPs and split the cost you could save ~£240 :D

Unfortunately there aren't enough good MP games available in the PS Store to make this worthwhile :?

Cool! I guess digital downloads can be good when, like you said, you can't find a copy of a game in good condition, and it can also be good if there is a rare game you want but can't find it anywhere other than on the store.

I prefer UMDs for most games, although the small downloadable games are awesome.

I prefer UMDs over downloadable ones. Downloadable demos? Perfectly fine. However, I find great pride in owning physical copies of my games and I often re-read the manuals, look and compare the pictures and information on the UMD disc, and I really enjoy the case's artwork and stats on the back and such.

Digital downloads may be convienient, but they lack the case, artwork, manual and overall feel of a physical UMD. I don't mind the extra load times, battery life is no problem for me since I have a car charger and a house charger, plus, I get more for my money with the aformentioned items.

Yes I'm very picky. :P

I love having the "hard copy" of the game(i.e. the UMD), but the Digital Download plays so much faster.

I'm sorta 50-50 on the subject

I loe having the UMD's to have there so you can see them. But I do love DD becuase when playing a game off the memory card it's ten times quieter and saves on battery. I voted for DD but really thinking about it now I should have voted for both.
