DIsc Read Error?!? any solutions?!?

my ps3 is giving me a disc read error for every dvd and game i put in, has anyone found any solutions to this?

I only bpurchased it 9 months ago but the customer service people are saying I need my original receipt. wtf?!?

fix it by urself, the drive can be found on ebay about 50-70 usd shipped
