discounting 60gb ps3?

i went into my local game shop today and was looking to buy a 60gb ps3 and the guy told me that they arnt making them anymore is this true? he then told me that they are only making the 40gb because its cheaper for sony to produce.

hmm, i have only seen the 40gb ps3's around myfriend is looking into buying a ps3 for christmasbut he has alot of ps2 games and wants to play them and he doesnt own a ps2 so does the 80gb ps3 allow ps2 games to be played?rocketspecial

Yup. You CANNOT play ps2 games on the 40GB, but every other version you can.
