I have played DMC3 and i liked it alot. i cannot wait for DMC4 so am thinking of getting the first one (i already know the seconed one is horrible). Is DMC1 Still good compared to DMC3, should i get it?
Get DMC. it takes place after DMC 3 and its the First Game that I played on the PS2. It was the One game that I went "OMFG look at these graphics, OMFG the storyline is Awesome!!!"
DMC1 is awesome and it was also my first game including MGS2 :D its what started many action games to date, but i can't agree with the others as dmc3 is the best in the series. But if i had to campare dmc1 to action games to date, it still kicks their @$$. Funny thing that i bumped into this topic as i'm replaying dmc1 on DMC myself, but ya you should get dmc1 if you loved dmc3, if some how you don't like the first on (which wont happen) get it for the story and so you can understand whats happening in the anime and in dmc4.
i'm playing dmc3 because its a popular series and i never played one of them so i thought i'd give it a go, but to be honest while i like it, i'm not loving it and its really not selling the series to me.
why don't you juist buy the collection for Ps2.You get all three for like 30 bucks.that way you will own them all.I don't like DMC2 all that much but I still like it a little.But when 4 comes out I will own the whole collection.
apart from the combat system and the story, DMC1 blows DMC3 out of the water. The Story was good, Dante was so much better and cocky, the environments were brilliant, it is definatly worth getting. You probably wont enjoy it as much since you got it now, but i got it at launch, and played it atleast 10 times before i got fed up of it. It was one hell of game when it lasted.

 I pretty much agree with this guy. I bought the Anniversary Collection a few weeks ago, and so far I love the series as a whole...DMC 1 is awesome, and DMC 2 is...okay. It would've been better if it was on a harder difficulty to begin with, and if you could upgrade your weapons and skills like in 1 and 3...
Devil Cry 1 was the best and then came 3. but if u played 3 first then u will notice some of the stuff is left out in #1. But it is a great game for the price now

WTF did u just say? A time paradox... So is DMC Delema the next DMC game? And yes, IMO DMC3 is better than DMC1.
I find DMC1 to be the best in the serie. There's not a lot of moves compared to DMC3, but the enemies are much better. They have a wider range of attack and you can mess with them if you are cocky, like jumping in the face of a Sin Scythe will make him mad and increase his agressivity.
Shadow cats are the best enemies in the DMC serie. Fighting 3 in the circle basement is awesome.
