so for storyline sake should i continue playing 2 or should i go to 3 and still be caught up with whats going on?
quick sum up including spoilers:
DMC1 - Dante "the devil hunter" is lured to a castle hosting demonic activity by a woman. In his adventures through the area he comes to meet Nelo Angelo who happens to be his Devilfied Brother. Dante faces off with Mundos, a high ranking devil dude and kills him.
DMC2 - iirc 5 years after the events of DMC1. Dante isn't as vibrant as in DMC1 and 3. Devil slaying is serious business. He whoops demon butt until the final boss retreats through a portal to hell. Dante jumps in the portal to hell to put an end to everything.
DMC3 - a while before DMC1. Dante is just opening his devil hunter business and is still unaware of his devil trigger. His brother, still in human form is doing evil demon stuff that Dante doesn't like so he goes to make him stop. They clash continuously and through the battles, Dante discovers Devil Trigger. He defeats Vergil at the end and knocks him into the demon realm and encounters 3 glowing dots (the symbol of Mundos in DMC1) alluding to the fact that this is when Vergil becomes Nelo Angelo.
I, in no way was 100% accurate on the storylines of the 3 games but those are quick summaries of what happens.
DMC2 is horrible gameplay-wise. I'm still trying to figure out these really annoying puzzles.thedarkomen
