We're brand new to PSP. Bought it for my son, along with Little Big Planet. It seems to be stopping him from playing the game without a memory stick. Do I need to go buy one? A memory stick didn't come with the PSP.

Unless it's a PSPGo, you won't be able to save any of your progress without it.

So yea it's kinda required. Plus, since it's Little Big Planet, I think you need plenty of memory to save any user-created levels.

I think a 1 gigabyte memory stick should be enough though. They're very cheap too :)

Edit; Actually, I think buying a 4 gigabyte stick for 20 bucks is a better deal.

Wow. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll get one. I need to try to talk my son into waiting, because they are so much cheaper on line than in Best Buy or Staples.

A memory stick is a necessary requirement for saving your gaming progress, and unless your son will only be playing LBP, I'd recommend getting a bigger stick than 1gig. You can also throw video files, songs, and pictures on there as well. With that line of thinking, bigger is definitely better :)

Yeah, like many folks have already said you need a stick to save games and such. I recommend getting a 4GB stick minimum. If you plan to buy games online through the PS Store you might consider a larger one. I download game demos and depending on how many you actually get a 4GB is sufficient.

I would strongly recommend getting one. You wont be able to save progress or download PSN games/content. Also if your gonna use it for video and music then its essential.
