Do i need a program for the pc to be able to charge the pad on a pc

so i just plug the usb lead in a usb port on my pc and it will chargemarchosking

You need power to the USB port so if the port isn't self powered which most Usb ports built in to PCs are not you need to have the PC switched on to charge it just like you need the PS3 switched on to charge.
