6-7 hours there, same on the way back. Its broken up a bit, so I will be able to charge at various points lol

I don't actually want to update my firmware (ps1 emulator), this is why I ask. I alreay have a few films, and they have not asked me to, but I just wanted to check if its something they may have started doing on newer movies.

Why? The PS1 emulator is not breaking the terms of use? There is a sticky about it.

Just buy a newer game like Space Invaders Extreme to make sure(only 20$ and well worth it). But no, UMD's have never made me update firmware.

Well i have about 40 umd movies & yes some of them do contain firmware updates. So far tho the movies that contain the updates seem to be music ones, that is ones that are labeled umd music on the box.

cool, cheers guys. I picked up the umds early, and tried them, and they are fine. I was going to pick them up before getting on the train and my fear was they were going to want a system update, which would mean plugging the system into the mains....which i can't do on the train

I'm not 100% sure - i think its done by conecting the PSP to the PS3 or something? My mate did it and now my PSP plays the original Gran tourismo.

you can play ps1 games by using REMOTE play on the ps3. or you can download a few ps1 games from the playstation store.
