First of all some people (including me)like to have phisical copies of their games. Second of all you cant buy used games or sell them. I just dont understand why Sony had to make such a big mistake.
I dont like it cause i had over 5 psps in the last two years and i forgot to deactivate them before selling. So now games like ff7 and patapon 2 i cant redownload cause im over 5 . so is downloading worth it? well i have to make a new ID to redownload games. you make the call. just remember to deactivate before shipping off to have fixed or sell so you dont lose data lol.
Some people, myself included, are collectors. We like to have a physical collection of our games, not just the data on our PC/PSP. It's just the way we are.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. That's a really good point. I buy used games all of the time, so I'll have more money to buy more games.:D But, with Digital Distribution, the used game market would die and EB Games, Gamestation, etc. would all close. It's bad for the collectors, it's bad for the buyers, and it's bad for the economy.

^That
Downloading takes time and eats your bandwidth. Some people don't have credit cards and Sony still doesn't produce PSN Cards for some countries(Australia...). Takes up memory stick space, needing you to buy more.
Downloaded games are stored on your PSN account so you'll always have them.
Having loads of games on your PSP aswell as a few movies is my kind of portable media device.
I absolutely hate carrying a stupid UMD case when all I want is my PSP.
My only problems are:

Took the words right out of my mouth. I just don't feel like I completely own it when I can't exactly see it. It just warms my heart seeing my game corner grow with each and every purchase.
As a person who games primarily on a PC, DD is a completely common and expected method of acquiring games to me. Personally, I'm glad that Sony is moving to a DD platform for videos and games, as it seems fewer and fewer stores are stocking the PSP titles that I am actually interested in. Not to mention that when I'm travelling, I need my battery to hold its charge for as long as possible...and UMDs chew through my battery power like a hamster chews through a Cheeto.
DLC won't kill EB Games (listen to the Gamespot podcast of the last few weeks - they explain the theory pretty well as to why their business will probably boom off of the "change"). I can see why people want a UMD or other physical copy, but I like the idea of carrying my entire game catalog with me without the UMD hassle. The bottom line is that Sony won't stop supporting UMD purchases over-night, so I really wouldn't worry about your preferred format.

DLC and downloadable games are two separate things. I do not believe downloadable games will overtake physical copies for the reasons stated before, but while people say it is a bad thing, it places less financial strain on the developers. Please Log In to post.
