Hello everybody,

I am really considering getting The Elder Scrolls Online, because I enjoyed Skyrim very much and since I also like MMOs, I thought I might give this one a try. Since I don't know how many people are actually playing the game or if I would have to look online for people to play with, like a guild or something like that (wouldn't have a problem with that), I am still trying to justify the potential game getting.

If I get the Game in Europe, will I only be able to play with people in Europe or are there different servers I can access? My internet at home is pretty good, so I wouldn't have a problem with playing on an american server for example.

The other thing I'd like to know is, if microtransactions are there. I really hate them. If there is somebody who is actually playing and enjoying the game at the moment, I would appreciate every input the person has to offer. I know, that it's not a normal Elder Scrolls game, that I won't find that depth and everything and that it's still an MMORPG, but I really like the idea.

Thanks for reading.

Take care.

I gave this game a try several times, and just cannot bring myself to care about it. I no longer play it, and yes there are micro-transactions but I don't remember them being necessary in any way to playing the game. I remember it being a lot of cosmetic things.

I'd like to know more about it as well. I love these types of games. I just am not sure if the game is stable or anything like the others.

I completely agree. I really gave it an honest shot. I've never been a huge MMO fan but I'm a fan of the Elder Scrolls series. I understand MMO's are quest based and that's primarily how you acquire you exp to level up. But, some of the quests were entirely too ridiculous (hunt down this guy in BFE to get a key to run to the other side of the map to unlock a door to find a clue to find another person to talk to somewhere else in the map but then that person wont talk to you until you avenge his fallen village, etc....complete the quest and you've only earned a handful of exp). It became so monotonous and time consuming. And if I'm not mistaken, it's one of those obnoxious systems where you can pay to upgrade your level. That annoyed the hell out of me...I'd spend a couple weeks getting to this one level and then Johnny Jackass who's only got a few hours logged in pays real time money and gets to way level up and he's now way above me. Buying mounts and anything else costs an astronomical amount of money, which is slowly acquired in the game...or again you can give them your credit card number and get it immediately.

It's a beautiful map and interesting characters. I liked the soundtrack and the overarching story isn't awful. I have a friend who absolutely loves it but she's also a massive WoW player, which I'm not a fan of either. So...maybe if you're more inclined to that genre...give it a shot...I traded mine back in after a week.

@chicago: Yes, I exist. I was actually recommended by friends who ended up not even playing it much because they aren't really into these kinds of games. In my opinion, it's a great alternative to Destiny if you want an MMO for console and if you're okay with less detail in graphics instead having a stronger emphasis on story/lore.

I agree also with the others. I tried to play it for about 6 hours and just didn't feel fully engaged in the game like I wanted to. The quests will have you go all over the place with little rewards in the end. But I do like the ability trees and having a variety of powers and weapons to use. But I actually had more fun playing Final Fantasy XIV than this game.
