Do people stil have the 20gb PS3?

I was just wondering because none of the ps3s these days have backward compatilibilty. Its a shame that sony removed it from them, I did'nt see any reason for them to do that. Why do you think they did it? LOL, I was extremely bored so posted this forum:)

I own a 60gb PS3 also. Mine can play the PS2 games. I havent tried to play the PS1 games yet though.

My friend still has the 20gb, i have the 60gb still goin strong. Sony should re-release the 20gb at a low price for casuals.

60giger here(Upgraded to 250)...most of the people that I know who have a 20g have upgraded also. One of the main reason I think they took away BC was to lower the price.

I do, I really need to buy myself a new hard drive.

You cant, you have to get an older 20 or 60 gig one if you really want to.

i hear you can manually put BC in your PS3 but it may cause you your PS3 itself.. want to play old titles though..:x

I still have my launch 20 GB, and just replaced the hard drive today(250GB)! Everything went really smoothly too, thank god. I feel like I have a new PS3.

Do they even manufacture 20GB HDD's anymore?

To the person with the 80GB wanting BC; the older 80GB's had limited BC, I believe they were bundled with MGS4 or Motorstorm 2. Of course, if you bought your recently then you're out of luck. Sorry, don't think there's any way to personally install the hardware/software required for PS2 BC, you can play PS1 games for what it's worth.

i have one and i upgraded my HDD last spring to 160G. I still have 90 left, but its nice not having to worry about running out of space.

I play ps1 and ps2 games all the time, and i just have my ethernet cable running right into my linksys wireless router. Then my home computer has a wireless card in it so i can have my router and modem anywhere in the house and still stay connected but also have my ps3.

Love my 20G but sometimes i do wish it had the chrome...:(

Yep, for over 2 years now. Except I popped in a 120GB HDD after I got it. So, it is actually a 120GB PS3 with backward compatibility for PS1/PS2 games - superb backward compatibility at that.
