I was thinking of downloading Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid until I read something about the games may not play as intended or as the originals played due to differences between the PSP and PSone.

So, what have you experienced?

Thanks.

They play fine. I have Bloody Roar, Crash Bandicoot, and Resident Evil. My girlfriend has Spyro and Ape Escape as well. They work perfectly fine, the only thing different is you think twice before you go into those rages of throwing the controller and beating yourself over the head with it when that zombie dog has killed you 4 times in a row. :P

The "Medal of Honor" games need re-mapping of the buttons but they play fine otherwise (I have a set-up for you if you like, so that it plays the same as any FPS on the PSP), "Syphon Filter" is awesome, and "Twisted Metal 2" is unbelievably good even to this day. I don't have RE because I own it already on a few different systems, but by all reports it's great too. Fear not, the games are worth the shekals!

Every PS1 game I've played on the PSP has worked great, even if a little button changing is required.

Ape Escape? How does she manage to play that game on a PSP? You'd need two analog nubs for that!
