Ok before you flame me just here me out first.

I don't know about you but the best thing about my Ps3 was that I did not have to worry about going into an on-line match and here some immature, cocky, knowitall, who plays games to release their inner Internet thug, call me names cause their parents doesn't love them. I loved the fact that most people who owned a PS3 were laid back people who just played games for fun and did not care about achievements and all that garbage...

I mean yeah there are those types of A-holes everywhere but ever since the release of GTA and MGS4 there has been a huge increase in noob chants.

Sure I know that more people brings better games but we also have to face the reality that it also brings those A-holes who try their best to ruin ur gaming experience.

All I am saying is that I miss some of the good ol days when I played Vegas 1 and 2 with some grown people that play after they get off of work and have a wife and kids... Which is great because those conversations usually expand more on politics, business and life in general... rather than hearing someone call you a cheater, hear someone complain, or see people unplug the cord cause they are loosing.

I mean If I get flammed for this so be it but I sometimes wish we could have both... but life isnt fair huh?

In a way, I agree with you. If people ceased to purchase PS3 right at this very moment then I don't think there'd be a PS4 for us to enjoy in the future. I'm not lookin' forward to hearin' a bunch of 6 yr. olds whine when you kill 'em either. Keep in mind, a lot of people don't have/use a bluetooth headset yet.

I can see where you're coming from, though.

I think it comes down more to price than the games, the PS3 is cheaper now so more younger people are getting it from their parents. I noticed after christmas alot more 16 and under playing FIFA 08 online, before it was us +20's. Not that it is a bad thing, you only really get the wankers in shooters anyway.

Maybe there should be a reporting system, so if a certain number of people report a person in a certain period of time they could get like a 1 day suspension from the PSN, then a week suspension, to a fornight suspension etc. Make it pretty hard to exploit so you can't just get someone banned. Maybe with some consiquences people would behave better.

Hmmm CoD 4 had the worst community I think. I have played R6V2 online for awhile now and I have only come across 1 little annoying kid. In CoD 4 I have lost count.

I agree with what TC is saying, and that's the main reason I never bother playing on-line. I would like to find some groups that are gamers that just want to play a good clean game on-line without a bunch cheating or other annoying things going on in the games.

Maybe time for people that just want to have some good on-line game experieces form a group.

Well for 3rd parties to keep supporting the ps3 we're gonna need about 2 times more..fast..

Yeah I'm beating this horse again..but MGS4 gave us a sales spike..it was very very needed..we need another one..and we had it. But now its multi-platform. Yes, FF13 put another nail in the coffin.

LOL, I dont have a headset yet for the ps3, but sometimes I wish I did cuz I could say some ridiclous stuff back to people and it would be fun for a while. I am a very reserved person, but when people start bragging and stuff, I can brag right back and it is pretty funny. But I will never get a conversation going that way, but I will continue a conversation taht way if necessary. LOL.I remember doing taht in nba live and madden on the ps2.

But if I am palying with a serious gamer I wil lnever try to ruin taht experience.

I have two headsets, but I rarely use them on the online games I play. The only game I own that I wish had voice chat is Rock Band, because the entire band should agree on what song the "leader" picks.

Statistically, this makes no sense. If x% of all people are jerks, your chances of having to play against these types of people are x% now matter how large the user base. Unless of course you're assuming new buyers are more likely to be jerks, but I don't understand what this assumption is based on.

It is not that hard to see my assumption... I feel that alot of 360 owners are either switching to PS3 or getting a Ps3... and as someone said above me the 360 has a big problem with the online community... I like how you threw a little business logic in it... nice.

Sorry, I just don't like it when people generalize things too much.

Also, take it from a different perspecitve: smaller user base = less attractive for developers -> less games

The more PS3 owners, the more whiney the forums. First crying about the games, then sheer updates, and now, apparently, we have to deal with teen angst on the forums too. No really, just check a bit around...you'll see some. And of course we have those adults still going through teen lessons as well. >.>

Just be mature. Set a good example. I work at child development centers and I find that the way to deal with immature adolecents is the same way I deal with 4 year-olds. Be negotiable and let things go their way a few times.

Man, I was hearing that stuff in RFOM back when the PS3 was "unpopular". Actually, that's the most worst I've ever heard in my life. About 10 years of my life, I've been playing online. Even back in the dial up days of Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. Close to 10 rooms on that list, about 30-40 players active. That's ALL I've heard. The best times is when you get into a Beta. Much more quiet and full of great players who don't give you a problem. I also see it like this. They're dumb people. Dumb people like simple, mainstream games. So where would you see these people populate? Not games like GRAW2 or Socom. Games like RFOM, Halo, Warhawk, COD4, Unreal. The simple games that don't require tactics or strategy, or thinking for that matter. They just run, shoot, die, respawn. Games like Socom, require some brain power cause once you die, you're dead for the rest of the round. It's weeds out people like this. Also, if you really do enjoy those games like Warhawk or RFOM, then I suggest you get yourself some online friends that play the same games you play and just only play eachother. I did that for a while myself. All the people I've played with, I've been playing with since the Socom 2 Beta. Though maybe one or two of them are idiots, the rest of the guys I play with aren't bad. I chose that route, cause I hate idiots who think they're tough only behind a mic, nice and safe in their mommy's basement. That's pretty much about 89% of the players online. I come across a few good guys sometimes. But that's about a 1 in a 100 ratio.

I prefer not to reason with them at all. They mean nothing to me and I'm not going to be paid for doing it. They talk trash, I sometimes just go after them in a game (not chatting) and they shut up. Usually leading to them leaving cause they're getting beaten in a game. Cause people like that, frame their pathetic lives around a score or a kill/death ratio. The only people I talk to, are the people that aren't acting that way, and I'm usually just calling out targets. At most, just small talk about a game or a show or something. I also occasionally joke around cause I'm good at impersonating voices, but that's it. I don't waste my time talking to them, or "reasoning" with them. Though I do respect what you do and that's your job or passion or whatever, but they aren't my responsibility. Not in a video game, over a mic.

Indeed they have. It's because society have become very lazy and expect the thinking and the parenting, be done for them through a medium like a TV, Video Game or a Computer.

I for one, am not going this route when I finally start having kids. I'm raising them with respect and not relying on this garbage that a lot of these lazy, undeserving parents do. I've seen enough of what NOT to do almost on a daily basis. Most of all, like most parents today, there is no way in hell any of my kids are going to be running the show and calling the shots. New technologies and such come out, you keep 10 steps ahead. That creates a lot of problems when parents today, let things go over their heads.

Been way ahead of you years ago lol I'm talking about the REAL stuff. Not no BS Maury, make believe "boot camp". The kind where it kicks your arse, wakes you up and makes you humble. But you know what though? That should be the parent's job. I can turn into a boot camp sergeant just fine if need be. Though I would really do that if all else fails and I the parent, really is doing everything right.

baller72, I agree with you 100%. Maybe it is because I am one of those grown people that play after I get off of work and have a wife(fiance) and kids. I do agree that the community have gotten worst since the sales have went up with the PS3. I use to play R6V 2 online but there is too many Internet thugs for my liking. Since I really love this game I only play terrorist hunt with friends online, really looking forward to Socom. Hopefully PSN with improve the community so mature gamers can play with mature gamers.

Thats just the age that we're living in now. You will always run into A-holes not only in a game, but around the world in general. The best thing to do is just ignore it. I agree that all these immature people are ruining the online experience. They just know that they have the freedom to say what they want because there would be no major consequenses.

No problem... but if you read all the previous posts you will see that I am not assuming for assuming sake... a post that was pertaining to me asked something on that subject so I gave my opinion....

Also look at the part I have highlighted in your writing....here is my repsonse....DUH!!!!!!!! I said that in my original post already.

And I never knew that the 360 came with a mic...That would explain alot...

Just be mature. Set a good example. I work at child development centers and I find that the way to deal with immature adolecents is the same way I deal with 4 year-olds. Be negotiable and let things go their way a few times.Zidaneski

There is a flaw with these child development centers and that's trying to negotiate with kids usually is a loseing battle. This has become one of the main problems with most of our kids today.

I'm with you bro. Although, theres still a bunch of little kids on PSN that shouldn't be there. If I could, I would make selling headsets and blutooth sets illegal to sell to minors, but thats me...

Sometimes it is, but for those kids they are taken away and put into time out (too bad I'm not allowed to smack these kids, lol). One 4-year-old said he was gonna take my head off, I told him go ahead. He comes at me, I pick him up and carry him away while he starts crying. Thankfully he was good the rest of the day.

So yah, if someone is unwilling to cooperate and throwing fits then thats the time to boot or just leave.

This to me sounds like very narsistic and egocentric comments.

A young person could come in here and say. do we need more older buyers of the ps3 because every time I play all I get is some old man who wants to play for fun and can't keep up with the lingo or isn't as competitive.

The fact of life is, there are many different personalities that make up this world and the key to getting on in it, is to ignore the personality types that you do not like.

Yes we need more ps3 owners so that Sony will continue to support it and more and more games will be releases for it...

Also, if more people ceased to buy the PS3 - you can kiss exclusives goodbye. I do prefer the older/mature PS3 crowd opposed to the childish, racist xbox live community.
