I dont concider arguing fun. I actually see it as a waste of time. I much rather correct them if I see them misinforming people but never just to call attention to their ignorance. and I only do it if I can immidiatly back it up with accurate information and state a source becaue the worst thing I could do is fail to accurately state my case in their home court.Alpha2Well said.
Given all the threads I've seen about the anti-PS3 information that EB Games is dishing out, and the fact that I've bared whitness to it a number of times myself, I sent a long e-mail to their corporate consumer branch. Will it do any good? I doubt it. However, there is the slim posibility that they will do something about it. Here's hoping huh? TelekillWow. They must've really t'd you off.
theres a lot of MS fanboys working at the gamestop that i go and i wouldnt call it arguing but defending the PLAYSTATION brand and correcting them.i do it most of the time and boy do i get the last laugh,i could write a book on how silly i make them look in front of everybody.
I think you're an idiot arguing with an EB/GS employee. Do you argue with real estate agents, car sales persons, or when you're buying tv or other electronic devices from the salespersons? I don't think so. It's pretty sad that a console will make you so upset that you need to confront and argue with them.feryl06I'm not an idiot, nor am I anybodies fool. Sometime there are sales people who try to talk you out of what it is that you want (either through salesmanship or personal bias). I do my research on the electronic items that I want, so don't try to tell me what it is that I do and don't want. If you have an opinion, that's all well and good. I will not be dictated to (now that I'm divorced :)).
I KNOW! when i got my ps3 it was something like this if i can remember
Me-id like to buy a ps3 please
them-ok
*they grab it and place it on the counter*
them- are you sure you dont want the wii or 360
me- im sure
them- the ps3 has a 46(40 something) % failure rate
me- Im sure u 360 fanboy just caus u dont have a ps3 dosent mean u encourage others not to get it(to myself) i said im sure
them - something else negitive towards the ps3 i forget
and it went like that
Y argue with them when you could make a quick call or email to someone high in the company and laugh at what happens to that store or the employeeKurupSoldr:roll: if you believe something happens to them when you make this call, you've yet to learn the cold truth about how the world operates. If the manager at a store allows the employees to speak freely, then that's the way that store is going to be run - frankly though, I appreciate it. Look, let's be blunt, you might not like that the PS3 isn't on top right now, but are you *really* so tied into your purchases that you let the detractors bother you? Is it that hard to admit that $600 is a lot of money for a system that doesn't have its best games out yet? I could have made *the same* complaints about the 360 a year ago - and they would have been right. In fact, I seem to recall hearing EBGames employees saying some pretty nasty things about the 360 when it came out. Before the PS3 price announcement it was "wait for the PS3, it's going to blow the 360 out of the water." The really glorious thing about them being free to speak is that a lot of these guys will be *honest* with you about games and accessories, especially if you're a regular at that store. Meanwhile, on the other side of the coin - if you complain at a store like Best Buy, the employees get the ramrod. On top of that, employees at Best Buy and Circuit City are judged on how many games and accessories they can sell you - it doesn't matter if it's an accessory like the Intercooler, that will do more harm than good, or if they attempt to sell you a $100 HDMI cable, knowing that it sells for $100 online. They will do whatever it takes to sell people useless junk, and then sell them a worthless service plan - one that charges them $60 to get the same treatment that Costco gives every customer (you can return an item to costco years later). So no, I don't *argue* with EBGames employees. I do talk with them, and frankly I've never seen anyone "bashing" the PS3. I did have a manager tell me he has plenty of them if I'm interested in buying them. I said "eh, there's not any games out yet" and we talked about the general lack of games (this was two months ago) and when we thought the situation would turn around.
I don't even buy anything from gamestop or ebgames unless it is a strategy guide that I can't find anywhere else, the store organizaion is horrible, the overall employee attitude is the exact opposite of what it should be, I feel like instead of wanting to help me, they want to make my life harder, they sell used games for 5 dollars less than what they are worth new, thus pocketing $45 - $55 to themselves and none for the company that actually makes the game, and, what the hell is up with the freaking stickers on their game cases, I still can't figure it out, it's like they had a huge corporate meeting and were like, YEAH!, PEOPLE WANT HUGE ASS STICKERS ON THEIR GAMES TELLING THEM TO SELL IT BACK TO US AND THATÂ ENVELOPES UP THE ENTIRE ART COVER, MAN GLAD WE GOT THAT FREAKING GENIUS IDEA!7CloudStrife7
yeah, that stupid stickers even on new games sometimes .... WTF ?
good thing we have BestBuy, in which they sell as much of games as eb, and with excellent service attitude
Anyway, I like the people at my store. Very well informed and they only tell you the truth about all systems.

I think its funny cause I never had a problem at the eb or gamestop I go to on a regular bases. In fact when I wanted to buy my 360 about a year ago they were trying to make sure I didn't buy it cause they didn't have any titles that was actually worth the system at the time. I just think its where you guys live and the people who work there are fools. Especially when its all about making a sell. WHy would they push for a less expensive system when they are going to get at least 500-600 from the PS3 alone? Doesn't make sense. This is a common misconception that people have. "I'm spending $600, you're making money, why aren't you licking my boots?" The truth is stores *do not* make money on PS3 / 360 console sales. They make all of their money on game and accessory sales. So, it doesn't hurt them to steer you away from buying a console - though I don't know of any stores that will say "you shouldn't buy that console." And their reasons for steering you towards consoles that have more "must-have" games out right now? Now it makes sense, right? When the PS3 has more games out, I think you'll find the EBGames attitude towards it becomes more positive. Remember, these guys aren't making a lot of money - they could go get a job at any mega-electronics-retailer and make more money, they work there because they're gamers. And just like any other group of hardcore gamers, games sway their attitudes more than anything.Anyway, I like the people at my store. Very well informed and they only tell you the truth about all systems.
