I was considering backing up my game saves, but then I thought about it, and I don't even really care about my game saves. If my phat PS3 were to brick and I were to go out and get a slim, I wouldn't even care about the fact that I had lost all my saves. I would think of it as an excuse to replay through those games with a fresh start.

The whole "cloud" thing kind of got me thinking about this, and while I can understand why people would be concerned about brick proofing their saves, I just don't really care about mine. I have some pretty good saves, but like I said, I really wouldn't mind starting from scratch and getting it all over again, but that's just me.

Depend on the game. Some have new game+ with carry forward everything you've gained feature and a few require clear game save to unlock bonus in sequel. These are game saves I certainly don't want to lose.

I agree. There are others though that I don't really care about. Like if all it has is a campaign that I've completed and nothing to carry it over too, I won't make a big fuss about losing it. But I like to try to keep it anyway just in case a sequal comes out later that allows me to carry it over and unlock something.

There's only one save I've ever backed up and it's for an important game from my childhood... It'd be nice if Sony made it possible to share locked saves rather than back them up. Of course there are ways around that limitation :)

For most games, I wouldn't care. For games I had already 100% I definitely wouldn't care. For really long games where I had 30 or more hours, but hadn't yet "finished" the game, I'd be pissed to lose that much progress.

Yeah I care about my saves. Some more than others though. When my PS3 broke a couple weeks ago, I was really worried about a few of my key saves.

I like keeping my saves safe. For games like Tekken 6 it's essential to have my saves backed up because I usually keep track of my long hours of playtime/customizations. Also for WipeOutHD. I just like knowing all the detailed stats like how many laps or hours I've played a certain track.

Other than the game I'm currently playing, I really don't care. I could just copy my game save to a USB stick if I was really concerned about it, which would be a bit cheaper than paying for PSN+. I think I've only played a couple games with copy-protected saves, and even though I backed them up and restored them when I upgraded my hard drive, they were corrupt anyway. Didn't really ruin my day. :P

Unless I was toward the end of a really long game like Fallout 3 or Dragon Age, I wouldn't really care if I lost all my other data.

It'd be kind of a pain to have to update all my games again if I wanted to play them again, but it's nothing I'd smash a controller over.

I don't want it all to be lost, I have ps1 games saves that are valuable to me I have FF game saves that have hrs and hrs of work and I would not want to lose that. I would say that most games I play/ed are works of art and I want to keep them cause I might just want to go back and play it again.

They have memory card adapters for PS3 that allow you to transfer your ps1 and ps2 data on your ps3 harddrive virtual memory card to an actual physical memory card. I did that for my Final Fantasy 7 save which is totally insane.

I just leave my game saves alone in case one day I may want to return to its world. It barely takes up any space on your whopping 120GB HDD. It's like it's not even there so why bother with it? I back up everything to a flashdrive as always. I understand some games like Heavy Rain are copyrighted and you can't transfer the game save to a flashdrive.

If you ever get an YLOD you'd care. I lost a lot of work. I also had all of my ps game saves backed up on my ps3 and I lost those as well. Still haven't finished Okami due to that. I had to restart a couple of games and I can't just go back and try to get those last trophies in a lot of games. It still upsets my when I think about it. I welcome that cloud feature.

Well i certainly do care as ive out a ton of time into most of my games. If i lost it all i probably wouldn't bother trying to gte everything back. Thing is that the actual chances of something happening to your saves is quite slim. People worried about their phats really need to consider getting a slim. Im not going to rush and pay for PSN+ though just because i can back up my saves to a server. I never seen so much hype for a non important feature in my life.

It really depends on the game, most saves I wouldn't care about other than the fact it was cool to look back on all the games I'd played on the system, but some data would be devastating to lose.
