Well depends of the game. If I really like the game and is not hard to get the trophy I plat it. Otherwise I leave it like that. For example SSF4 is my favorite fighting game right now. But some of the trophies are a chore. Besides that, they're frigging hard at least 2 of the list which 1 trophy is ranking every char to rank C in ranked match and Trials of all the characters. So I don't really think I will plat SSF4 anyday, unless someone helps me or something. But people play how they want right ? :p

Some of these trophies i don't even see me able to get. I'll probably never get a plat. Not too concerned, i guess, since i clearly don't go back to games i've beaten for the trophies, i just keep moving on.

I don't know. I just got a ps3 and still am trying to beat the game. I may try to get some but probable not all of them. Especially if it is a stupid trophy.

I try and get those I think I'll have fun getting. Which means that, when I tried to play MW2 on Veteran (or whatever the highest lvl is) but wasn't able to reach a checkpoint without dying at least 10 times, I gave up. It wasn't worth it and the campaign isn't that great.

If it's a game I REALLY enjoy (Borderlands, Fallout 3, inFamous) and trophies don't seem THAT hard or boring, I'll get them.

I have 5 plats only, all relatively easy and games I really liked (except ACII which wasn't exactly a superb game IMO), FO3, inFamous, Borderlands, RE5.

Yes and no. It depends on the game really. Like a game like Uncharted, R&C:ACIT, rock band 2, COD MW2, etc are all single player trophies and so for me they are pretty easy to get and I do. But other games like killzone 2, resistance 2 is like kill 10000 people online or get ranked in the top 1 percent or something like that I just don't bother because then I just wouldn't enjoy the game

Agree with you. I never platted Resistance 2 cause of the 10k kills trophy.

I only hunt for trophies if: -the game has trophies(duh) -i like the game enough to bother wasting time trying to get the trophies -getting the platinum isn't hard. If there are some hard trophies I know I'll never get then I quit hunting for trophies even if there are some easy ones(unless I REALLY like the game then I MIGHT go try getting those easy ones)

Usually no. I just play the game and get whatever trophies I get through normal play. Sometimes I'll try for easy or fun ones, but for the most part I just let them go. I am trying to Plat FFXIII though, so we'll see if things change after achieving my first Platinum. Maybe I'll become completely hooked on trophies.

Nope. Especially for games with ridiculous requirements or boring and tedious ones like the Demolition trophy for BC2 which is both difficult and tedious.

I usually play a game to win and beat it. Sometimes if i enjoy a game enough, or the trophy is easy enough I'll go for it. But honestly most cases Trophies aren't a huge deal to me. Now on Fallout 3 it does help point me in direction of things to do, so I try for some of them.

I Also only 100% one game and that was Assassin's Creed 2.

If it's a game I really, really love then maybe I'll try to platinum it. With the other 90% of games though, no. I just get whatever trophies are awarded during the normal playthrough. I might look at a trophy guide and if there's some trophies I can get for doing extra little things, well, what the heck, might as well get them.

I don't care about 'em. I just play the game how I want to play it, for as long as I want to play it.

Trophies are cool for some people, but, for me, they don't matter in any way. They don't extend the game for me at all. Again, cool if they do for other people, but they're just not for me.

I used to.

I used to work my ass off if there was a trophy i wanted.

including, but not exclusive to replaying Assassin's Creed 2 for an extra 30 hours because the final trophy glitched out, and bouncing around Empire City or hours on end shard hunting and XP farming for upgrades.

But honestly......

I have come across a few trophy throwing games recently that have numbed me to trophy hunting.

you paused the game.............have a trophy

You put the disc in.................have a trophy

you got a trophy....................have a trophy

it's too damn much!

.

.

But, ask yourself one question

What would Kevin Butler do?

I'm mixed on it. If a game has a trophy that seems fun/interesting, I'll go for it. I refuse to do something really tedious and unenjoyable, though. That causes frustration with a game, which is the opposite of what I paid to experience.

Never. I play to enjoy the game and not really fond of pointless tasks such as "get 30 kills". I don't dedicate my life to a worthless little icon.

Video games are art and a medium for telling a story as well as entertainment. It should be enjoyed as such. Not a task to get trophies or achievements. When people act as if they accomplished something and treat it as some kind of "career" or "job", kinda gives video games a bad rep.

I never did, but I came really close. In AC2, after a playthrough, I had 95% of the trophies. So I told myself I'd work for the platinum, since I was so close. I spent a couple of hours trying to collect all of the feathers, and then I realized I just wasn't having fun. So I stopped, and haven't gone back since.

At first I had no interest at all, seeing as they are very time consuming and I want to move onto the next game. But when I came across a game I really enjoyed, I just found myself playing the game again collecting trophies which I always loved doing such as trying to collect all items in the old adventure, rpg games.

I like to collect trophies but some games I don't even bother with collecting them like Wipeout HD and Warhawk. It literally takes over a year of playing Warhawk 2 hours a day to become a general. And Wipeout's zone trophies are impossible. Also I freaking hate Zico. I've come within .02 seconds of beating his time after hundreds of tries and then I had to turn of my PS3 to keep myself from throwing the controller through the window.

No I don't care about earning trophies that much I know I'll never get a platinum trophy and that's because I don't sticking to one game and having to do all the tedious side missions and such which I get easily bored of. I still buy games that don't have trophies because I don't like to miss out on great games just because it doesn't have trophies. I do think THQ should have added trophies to Saints Row 2 and Blood on the Sand because I know I would have got the platinum for those 2 games.

trophies(which were derived from achievementss) are designed to make you more addicted to games than you already are, also its a form of advertising in the form a sort of meta-word-of-mouth since your friend is playing it and is getting all these trophies it must be a good game, also your friends gamerscore or level is now higher than your so you play catch up by buying that game, also this is why dlc now has achievements to help it sell.

also this is kind of on the farfetched side, but with the wipeout hd demo there was a 'bug' that added the trophy list, i saw some ancedotal evidence on various forums that this caused people to buy it, i don't think its in the realm of impossibility that this 'bug' was planned.

I HATE TROPHIES SO MUCH AND I AM GLAD THEY ARE NOT IN MY MGS4.

I hate these stupid trophies that tell me that i completed a level, and consequently destroy the immersion that i had developed while playing the game, i wish they would give me the option of turning off trophy notifications

I don't really make any effort to collect all trophies in a game. Generally I just play and whatever trophies I get I get. I will however works towards getting specific trophies sometimes. Not because I want the trophy that much, but because I think I'll have fun in the process of earning it.

No. I like getting trophies and achievements randomly just from progressing through the game but I don't usually go out of my way to get all the trophies. The only game I did this for was COD4 on 360.

Pretty much just playing the game and getting trophies that are on the way. The perfect trophy support I believe is shown in Uncharted 1 and 2. There were fun and enjoyable and you can get almost all of them by just playing the game and not getting frustrated.

I just get them along the way, if it's the game I really like, I'll try to get additional ones as long as they're not punishing. :)

I enjoy getting trophies but I definitely don't care about getting all trophies. I want to play a lot of different games on different consoles and to do that I don't have the time or patience to try and get every trophy on any one game. Especially the "tedious" ones - if I can't have fun getting it forget it. Defeats the whole purpose of playing a game. I do check the ones available for a game though and make a point of getting any that would either be fun to go after or not too much trouble.

No. I'd live to have one platinum one day, but I just don't see myself finding a game that I enjoy a lot that has easy trophies. I usually just get trophies along the way and that's it. There are a few games that I really enjoy, when, upon replaying them, I'll start considering what trophies there are to actually get. And of most importance- if it stops being fun, then I stop caring about the trophy.

Sometimes, they add replay value. Like Fallout 3 for example, I play the crap out of that game anyways so I figure I might as well go out of my way and do it anyways, and unlike most games these days Fallout 3 rewards you with more than just a trophy.
