I feel that way. I mean they spend so much time making games for the Move, they make all their 3d TV's, I just feel like it's a waste of time. I will never buy a 3D tv, I will never buy a Move, all I want is good games but it seems like they care more about their casual gamers these days.

Just because they support Move doesn't mean they are abandoning hardcore gamers. There is as much as ever for hardcore gamers. Even the PSVita is obviously targeted at hardcore gamers, including full online support, dual analogs, and great graphics.

The gaming industry these days is all about "bottom line" above anything else. They also like to spin this mentality that we should be "privileged" to buy their games and in turn, think they could try to shove things down everyone's throat.

They chop up completed games and expect you to pay full price for 60% of the final product and expect you to pay a fee to play online if you happened to buy it used.

It isn't just Sony. A majority of game companies don't care about their fanbase at all. Just look at how gaming has become after the end of PS2's glory days and when the M$ "greed policy" soon followed; then, other companies following suit..

YOu don't offer a single example of how any of this is true... The PS3 was one of the most casual systems there was, though it also appealed to hardcore gamers which is why people liked it.

Also the thread is about Sony not caring, he's not talking about the whole industry.

I think you misspelled Microsoft.

Cheesehead9099

Well said.

TC, i think you really do have the wrong end of the stick. If you look at the games that have come out for the PS3, and let's stick to exclusives to keep with your anti-sony tone, while the majority may have Move SUPPORT, move is not forced upon you by any means. Apart from a select few Move exclusives (I can't think of many. Heroes on the Move, sports champions, the fight there are a few more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head) most move games are games for the "Hardcore gamer" that have move functionality built in as opposed to being move games. Take Killzone 3 for example, It's a great game with or without the move. you are in no way forced to use move and you are losing nothing by not using it.

when resstance 3 hits, it'll have Move support, but it will in no way affect the Hardcore, controller loving PS3 community. But if people want to use their move then they can without worrying about losing out on the experience.

let me ask, do you think Infinite games is negleting the "Hardcore Gamer" by putting move functionality into Bioshock Infinite?

now take a good look at the other console.

Pretty much everything coming for it, especially it's exclusives is Kinect shovelware. Or has had kinect shoehorned into everything they possibly can.

I, for one, would rather have the OPTION of Move, than have Kinect forced upon me

The same goes for 3D. It's never forced upon you. You have the choice to buy into it or not. However, when sony do 3D, whether it be in movies or games, it looks phenominal. As soon as I can afford it (And i have room for something bigger than my 42" TV) I will be picking up a 3D TV so I can immerse myself in my gaming experience more. Hopefully a "hardcore" gamer can understand that

HAHA!

So true.

I hate the "Hardcore" name. It makes me feel like a 12 year old whenever someone says it about me.

I agree, lately we see too many crappy games like the ones with Move or 3D and stuff like Little Big Planet and ModNation Racers. I think that's all Nintendo's fault because they plagued the Wii with such games and now everyone thinks that's good.

I personally would like to see more God of War, Devil May Cry and that kind of games. And pleeeeease, I want more RPGs !!!

What are you talking about? Sony is the only one right now having both third party support and first party support.

Sony has put out

Killzone 3

Infamous 2

Little Big Planet 2

Motorstorm Apocalypse

Yakuza 3

Ar Tonelico 3

Two of those games have a creation feature. Only hardcore gamers are going to waste time creating their own things

Motorstorm is still one of the most challenging racers out there. Hardcore gamers are probably the only ones going to finish that game all the way

Ar tonelico 3 is a pretty niche RPG. Casual gamers probably do not even know that the game exists.

This holiday season there will be games such as

Resistance 3

Twisted Metal

Uncharted 3

Disgaea 4

Journey

Ratchet and Clank All 4 One

Disgaea 4 is a strategy RPG that will suck up a person's entire lifespan, Those games take hours to beat. Resistance has always had a rather high difficulty for shooters. If the difficulty in the new Twisted Metal is anything like Black, then casual gamers are not going to finish it. The only casual game on the list is Ratchet and Clank. Teamwork seems to be essential in that game, so I do not know how casual friendly it is.

Sony at least has games. What are the other console makers offering this year? There does not seem to be a whole lot coming from the other two companies. Sony has probably been more focused on games than anyone else right now.

What Move games are coming out? It is about time Sony started supporting the move. Sports Champions is still the best game for the expansion. What happened to that Sorcery game for the Move? It is cool that Sony is getting 3D support. I am not into it myself, but developers showing an interest in the technology is a good thing.

Next year is looking pretty good as well. There will be games such as Starhawk, Sly Cooper, and The Last Guardian that will all be released. A Tales game will finally be released on PS3 after mission out on Vesperia. What are you looking for? I would feel let down as a gamer if I only had one of the other consoles.

What is this guy talking about:? Just because you dont like something(3d and move) makes PS3 not hardcore. The ps3 is doing it right, right now. Ps3 has move in the games but it is not forced on you to play.

Sony never tried to shove the PS Move down our throats like MS with Kinect or Nintendo with the Wiimote, most of its games are still mainstream but with move support as an option. Looking back at E3 it's an easy no.

If they try to appeal to hardcore gamers (whatever that is), they'll be catering to a smaller crowd. Isn't it better that they make and release things that can appeal to everyone?

LBP is awesome and so is Modnation Racers. Platformers have been around since way before the Wii and so have cart racers. Modnation Racers is actually pretty deep too for a cart racer - a skilled player can pretty much always come in first. It seems like you just like hack and slash games, which PS3 has some of the best out of any of the companies.

Anyways, back on topic - I agree with what others have said. Sony has consistently been cranking out quality exclusives for us gamers and have some of the best studios in the indusry. IMO they have been doing a much better job than either MS or Nintendo. Also, I agree with the fact that there are gamers and non-gamers. People just have different tastes and I think Sony has the most varied lineup right now for any taste.

I guess theres still a lot of exclusives coming out but they are still too focused on the move. In my opinion I think the Move was a complete waste of time, I never got why theres such a fuss about motion controls. I also don't get why everyone goes bananas over the 3D thing. Seems like Sony just wants more casual gamers and I'm afraid one day that might be all they care about like how Microsoft kind of is now.

My opinion about the Move? I'm not a motion sensor fan, but I have tried it, and it's fun with some friends and such, the problem is that, for me the price is just too high for me to purchase, even more when this November are coming out games like Skyrim and Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 and such...

I get that Sony is trying to get to a different crowd, but I don't know if it will payoff in the long run...

Agree, even though now that they announced the MGS collection.

I think I read somewhere a rumour of a Devil May Cry collection was also in the work.

I think Sony it's doing a pretty decent job at giving stuff for the Move and Harcore gamers, not too focused on one side

Where are you getting the idea that Sony is focused on Move? There is almost nothing interesting for the Move at the moment. What evidence do you have to back up what you are claiming?

Doesn't seem that way to me. I'm getting more hardcore games than I can handle right now. All Sony is doing is balancing the field for both casuals and hardcores to enjoy the games. The PS3 library has something for everyone.

it seems like their pushing for hardcore honestly, now microsoft someone needs to punch some sense into bill gates, not slap, beat the living sh*t out of him till he relises what hes done
