Well I'm going to college in May and I want to know if you guys brought your consoles to college and had them in your dorms. Were you guys distracted alot with your conosles in your rooms or not. I know that I won't be using it as much as I do now but I'll still use it when I have some free time because I'm planning on being in med school. Thanks. I really want to bring my PS3 to college with me and want to know your opinion.

I took mine with me and it was fine in my dorm room. Just don't leave your door open for everybody to just walk in. I also have a 3.0 gpa and it's a good stress reliever.

Ok thanks for the quick reply. Also I just need to convince my parents that people bring their consoles to college with them and then I'm set. Anymore opinions are welcomed

Yup, my roommate and I both brought our PS3s. Its a good way to meet people if you leave your door open. You will have some downtime to play, but its not much with hw and friends out there.

When i lived in a dorm i only brought my PS2, and i know at least 2 ppl got the 360s stolen as well as other stuff in my 2nd year, so it all depends on if you can trust your roomate and if you plan on having parties where random ppl come in

i honestly would not bring mine. besides the theft issue, i know it would be a distraction for me, and some schools don't allow consoles to sign on to their internet.

rather i would grab a console from the previous generation (ps2/xbox/gamecube). cheap, less possibility of theft, and tons of games. but this is just my opinion.

Sell it, it's better to spend the time you would have spent with it, socializing with others.

ok thanks. And thanks for the different comments everybody. I think I'm bringing my PS3 but if there are people who I don't trust or people I have suspicions about I'm locking it away or sending it back home. Because I know that I'm not about to lose 600+ dollars (including games makes it 1000+) on my PS3 because of foolish people

besides, many games can keep your mind stimulated when you aren't doing anything which is good when your still in school learning and studying all the time. just dont let it get in the way of your studies and you will be just fine. many days in college you may find yourself with nothing to do its not always super fun, so videogames are great, and its fun having little tournaments with friends there, like a madden tournament or something.

yeah I know when I'm just stressed out or feel like doing something other than studying or talking to friends I can just play gAMES. I just hope that I'll be able to go online.

it depends how far your college is from your parents house. If your college is not very far, you can leave your ps3 at home at first. THEN if you find you have plenty of spare time and want to get it, you can go home and pick it up.

it all boils down to responsibility... can u prevent it from getting stolen and keep a good balance with studies? Depends on how well u know urself, we can't tell you what to do. Although that socializing with others instead of playing games seems like a horrible idea. XD:lol:
